Griz fan buddy told me this over lunch, maybe coaching Safeties? Anybody else hear that rumor? I always loved watching that guy play for the CATS.

There's a thread on it on egriz. Rumor is that Phen and possibly Tim Hauck being hired as analysts. Coop as Safeties coach.

Well our former head coach did hire a former gris coach a few years ago....but Coop to them would not be quite like that hire. Maybe he would be a double agent for us down the road some day, I would Love to have Coop-a-loop back in the Bozone.

Wasn’t Coop with Phenicie at ISU. I think the Gris just hired Phenecie as well.

Correct on both accounts. Phen-Phen is back with the gris.

So given all the financial issues at um, how do they afford another assistant coach. I know he is being hired as an “analyst”, but he will be another assistant in all reality. And either way, I am sure Phen is not doing this for no salary.

I’m sure they’ll get rid of a couple more “academic” programs.

I’m kinda with you on that. If he was going from MSU to um, I’d definitely be there. Seems like lots of gris have coached at MSU and vice versa.
