I've never once defended Hauck in my life. He's a totally classless douchebag, 100%, no questions asked.

But margin of victory is a typical tiebreaker for the playoff committee. Most of the committee isn't going to go deep enough to know if the Griz cored in garbage time or not. Running up the score against a middle of the pack team in your conference is likely to help when it comes to playoff seeding. Might be the difference between Davis/Sac getting a seed & UM getting a seed.
