One thing I am certain- they’ll be ready to play us.
Maybe, but they weren’t last year, and they had a more veteran team last year due to all the injuries this year.

Ya, but MSU's best player didn't even play so of course they weren't ready for that...

In what seems like recent Griz tradition, they rushed a QB back from an injury only to see him get injured again.
I think it's just Hauck playing Hauck games
He's trotting the kid out for a series endangering his health to make other teams think they need to prepare for their other QB.
I really don’t think it’s that deep. Brown had fumbled already, they thought Humphrey would be better even if not completely healthy.
Maybe you're right. But what was he doing warming up for the game two weeks ago as if he was going to start? Hauck does that crap.
What I think is funny is how griz fans cry and complain about BSC referees. It's ironic because nobody has been the beneficiary of the referee home cookin' like they have for years. A couple calls don't go their way and waaaaa, waaaaa waaaaa.
There were a lot of calls that went against them, but when you watched the replay, they were usually the correct calls. All the turnovers were correct. The offsides penalties that allowed SUU to take deep shots, or give SUU a first down, were correct. I didn't watch the entire game but all the penalties I saw were correct.

And the griz got 2 very, very generous spots at the end to ice the game with 2 first downs. VERY generous spots.
I still can't figure out how they let the first of the two spots go without a review. Akem looked to be on his knees short of the first down and then fell forward to the line. The second spot looked correct as the ball appeared to cross the line before the RB was pushed back.
Yes, add that to the good fortune UM received in this game, yet they're somehow acting like all the bad luck went against them because Bobby said so. Pick six, missed XP, block FG for the win, and now getting first downs that they didn't get.

I'm sure there will be a new excuse in a day or two.
Colter and Riley Corcoran went on for about 10 minutes about how the griz got screwed all game by the refs.
Love listening to that show but today was a bit over the top on the officiating.

Corcoran even said something about the Targeting call that was waived off. It was absolutely not targeting and was correctly waived off, but of course he thinks it should've stood.
I was a bit surprised to hear Colter talk that way as well. He’s usually far more level-headed than that. I rewatched their game and the officiating seemed identical to the officiating of every big Sky game I have seen. This is nothing new, and there wasn’t anything that jumped out at me as being terribly bad.

I swear if you read egriz these days, the griz are the first team in the history of football to have injuries and deal with officiating that isn’t great. Can’t recall a time I’ve heard so many excuses for such a long period of time from those guys.
Hauck has a cult following over there. Imagine if Stitt or Delaney were having a season like this and saying the goofy things that Hauck has been saying. If anyone else had blown the 2018 Cat-Griz game and been summarily trashed in 2019, they'd be on their way out right now. With Hauck they're willing to make every excuse in the book for him and believe the lame ones he comes up with. Turns out the golden boy isn't everything they thought he was, but they'll never admit to it.
Oh ya, you’re preaching to the choir on that one.

They have a topic on egriz about whether he’s on the hot seat. I said that Bobby Hauck, in Missoula Montana, will never be on the hot seat. He’s the biggest celebrity they have, and is the 2nd coming.

He’ll stop coaching the griz when he wants to stop coaching the griz. And as a Cat fan, I’m all for it!

I am now seeing articles about how great Northern Colorado is playing. Setting up an excuse to either lose or squeek by them.

The griz have looked bad the last few weeks and I've enjoyed it. But the Bobcats looked bad in the middle of the 2019 season and that one turned out OK. I know they have some issues talent-wise, but I do expect them to end up being better than what they've shown lately.

Yes. This is par for the course every season with the unbalanced schedules in this conference.

We knew when the schedule came out we'd hear about how easy ours was for the first couple months. Though Cat fans would point to our last three games on the road (Weber, EWU and UM) that toughens it up.

When the dust settle in a couple weeks our schedules will really be pretty similar. We'll have 4 common opponents (NCU, Idaho, EWU, Cal Poly). They got to avoid Weber and we got to avoid Sac. Though we played Weber on the road and they got Sac at home.

Then there are the other two I consider a wash though I'm sure that could be argued. They play NAU on the road while we played PSU on the road. They got Southern Utah at home and we got Idaho State at home. I guess if one really wanted to try they could make a case that one of those duos are more difficult than the other but to me they're all the same.

I guess come November they can have the tiebreaker on more difficult schedule as they'll have had to play Montana State, and we lucked out getting to play Montana.

I've heard some go so far as to claim the SUU game was somehow affected by the spirits of Halloween. And yes, this week's media narrative seems to be that UNC has transformed into a near-NFL squad since the MSU game. Hilarious.

Has anyone listened to Riley Corcoran on Colter's Montana Football Hour? I understand he's the Voice of the Griz, but some of the stuff he says is downright absurd.

On another note, I wish the media would stand up to Robert The Dolt. I'd fire right back if the guy treated me like he treats some of the reporters. Example:

Shawn Rainey: Coach, you got two field goals instead of a touchdown in that half. What do you think your offense needs to do in the second half?
Hauck: Oh, you can do math, Shawn. Can't divide 6 by 7.
Me, watching my TV (and hoping Rainey fires back with): A touchdown is 6 points, smartass.

Yeah it will be interesting what the excuse de jour is this week when this game is close or even a loss. So far we've had:

Injuries (no team has ever been hurt to this extent in the history of football)
We are every teams Super Bowl (like some how a team has the ability to morph into a top 5 team after being a 1 win team all season)
Refs (they can't handle the noise and pressure of our half empty stadium, even Brint said the stadium was NOT FULL)
Bad Spirits/Halloween (seriously, Colter and Riley tried this one on)

Will it be a recycle of one of these or will they find another new and laughable one?

Has anyone noticed that when the cats blow out these supposedly bad teams, griz fans just say it was a bad team. When the griz squeek by them it's because the bad team is inspired. I am now seeing articles about how great Northern Colorado is playing. Setting up an excuse to either lose or squeek by them.

We held some people out to prepare for the cat griz and playoff games. We only played our 2nd team offense and defense today.

Choate used to say, “I hope they don’t fire Stitt. He’s so easy to coach against.” After coaching against Bobby he said, “I hope they don’t hire Stitt back. He’s way harder to coach against than Bobby.” True story.

I don’t know about that one. Cat griz is just another game for them. Their focus is playoff and national championships. Cat griz is the ONE game of the season we care about.

Or so I’ve been told.

After we started winning….. :-k

I had always enjoyed listening to Colters podcast while working out at the gym. About 4 or 5 weeks ago, I noticed him slobbering all over the Griz and really discounting the Cats anytime possible. It has gotten to the point that I can’t listen to him anymore. Super disappointed.

I mean I get it. He was on a Bozeman radio station a month ago saying he thought the cats would win the conference. Catering to the audience. Makes sense.

I was way more surprised listening to him last week go an and on about the officiating in the griz game. Like they’re the first team ever to have bad calls in this league. And there wasn’t even anything over the top bad in that game. I saw far worse calls at the end of the Vikings-Cowboys!

In the end I get it. It’s his job. If it means more likes, tweets, retweets, or better yet, subscriptions; it’s good for him. And based on his comments and what I read on egriz all week about the suddenly new bad officiating, he probably accomplished his goal.

Again, are they good? Good with a small g... They would be in first place in the Pioneer Conference, probably the Ivy League...

They are a top 3 defense behind MSU and Weber(now that weebs is healthy). They are a bottom half offense. The result is they are middle of the pack in the BSC, somewhere between 4-7th. They have the ability to whoop up on the Cal Poly's and Idaho's but a PSU or NAU can give em a game depending on scheme and if special teams or defense can put some points up. They aren't elite but the defense can keep them in games.

They are not a particularly well coached team. Bobby relied on superior talent for so many years he doesn't know how to adjust now that he doesn't have it. He refuses to make in game adjustments.

They could win out and they could lose out. Neither would totally surprise me and before I incur the wrath just remember how much of a underdog the Cats were in Choate's first couple games.

Cat Griz is always a wildcard, but we are clearly the better team.

I agree with most of what you said, but they are not a top 3 defense. And SUU is not a good team and they should have beat the Griz.
