This is akin to Idaho saying they don't want to play. This is a 2 win team or something like that last season and this season doesn't even belong to a conference I don't think. I wouldn't play if I was them either.

I'll be more intrigued if a good team from a good conference just decides not to play. I don't see that happening.

That's a misleading title, UConn is not dropping football, they are deciding not to play this season.

The article outlines that. Will edit to stop any confusion for those that may not read the story.

Aren't they independent? This move is probably about not being able to fill a schedule. It's not like the dominoes will start falling because of them.

Yup independent. Already had 4 FBS games cancelled and possible more. And they looked at dropping to FCS and said the lose of revenue was about $3.7M and became a no way.

They say the loss off revenue would be $3.7m. Don't know if dropping down would be a benefit. Look at Idaho. Not like they are competitive in the BSC.

But they would have 63 scholarships vs 95. Correct. Then they could be at least a bit more competitive if they could get into a conference close to home and create some rivalries. Close to home conference??? And who could be a more natural rival??? Don't know why some feel it is spending time in hell if one is in the FCS. I am sure I am a minority with that way of thinking. They could see a true increase in attendance.

Just curious, how has that worked for Idado...
