JMU vs. Ndsu

Post by 91catAlum » Sat Jan 11, 2020 11:17 am

JMU takes the opening kickoff and drives 87 yards for a TD. They are running the ball right at Ndsu.

Weather might be a factor. Bison D doesn't look nearly as good in the cold.

JMU didn’t break a sweat. Made the NDSU D look like an NAIA team.

Maybe the dome has made them too soft to play in the cold.

JMU drive took 7:30 off the clock.

That was a very impressive drive. I've been saying all along that I expected this to be a very close game. I still think NDSU will win, but not by more than one score.

Ndsu answers. Key plays were a Lance scramble to pick up 3rd and 11, and a DPI penalty on a fairly uncatchable pass.

This could be higher scoring than I figured...

Has anyone scored on the opening drive on NDSU? Has anyone had a longer drive on NDSU? Pretty impressive.
Will this be a whoever has the ball last scenario?
After opening drives for both now does it now just settle down. Did I hear the announcers say this is NDSU's first game on grass?

Why did JMU decide to go to the air on that drive?? They were gashing the bison on the ground on the first drive. Now they punt.

NDSU has so many good football players, the blocking was beautiful

That facemask was a disastrous penalty...

NDSU doesn’t get called for sh!t. Holding on the fake reverse TD.

I know a lot of people hate NDSU, but I'd love to see them roll in this game. Ideally they'll win by more than they beat us, so we could stake a claim to being the 2nd best team in the country.

Yeah this is probably pretty much over before halftime. I guess we can say it took the best to beat us out.

Question is how do we beat these guys? I think we closed the gap a bit from 2018 to 2019. Choate's got the Cats on the right path....I think getting t a home and home with the Bison would help.......then continue to build out facilities and amp up recruiting....

Home field throughout. We are a way better team at home, as are most teams. Choate has us on the right path for talent and run oriented/defensive club.

Trey Lance won the Peyton as a freshman. It's going to be a few years.
