I'd really love to see the replay. They had them at 20-16 for quite awhile.

I was watching the game. Davis was 4th and goal from the 4 and went for it and Maier threw a pick when it was 20-16. So close.

Coach Hawkins really has Davis going. Still working with a lot of the previous staff's players. Their will definately be an upgrade. Look forward to their visit to Bozeman

I thought it was on 3rd down when he threw the pick? I think I remember wondering if they would kick it if they didn't make it in on that play.

I seem to remember it being 4th down, but maybe you’re right. I had three games going at once and most of my focus was on MSU.

You are correct. I just looked it up on gamecast espn.

At the time, I was trying to reason through what Hawkins was thinking. I never listened to a post game, or read anything after the game, but I believe he must have thought the Aggies might not get such a great opportunity again. I give him credit for playing to win.

Maier had threw three picks on the day. One or two fewer and the game might have gone the Aggies’s way.

I could have sworn it was third down because I remember thinking that I would go for it on 4th. Totally agree that was their best chance to win. Hawkins has been around enough to know that.

It's kinda scary how that game went. UC Davis turned it over 3 times and was called for 11 penalties at over 100 yards. All kinds of things went wrong and NDSU didn't put a beat down on them. I wonder how many teams have been -2 turnovers and been tagged with that many fouls and still hung with NDSU, especially at the FargoDome.

I don’t think you have to wonder about that. It’s probably never happened.
