Carroll's Emmert Breaks NAIA Record

Post by GFGriz » Sun Nov 13, 2005 9:05 am

From the Billings Gazette:

HELENA - Tyler Emmert passed for 301 yards and four touchdowns and Jed Thomas ran for four more scores Saturday as Carroll College wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a 66-13 victory over Rocky Mountain College. Top-ranked Carroll (10-0, 8-0 Frontier) left Emmert in the game until early in the fourth quarter, after he broke the NAIA career total offense record on an 11-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Peterson. Emmert, a senior from Helena, has 12,920 yards in total offense, breaking the old mark of 12,907 set by Central Washington quarterback Jon Kitna from 1992-95. Kitna is a 9-year NFL veteran who is currently the backup quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals.
