Oh, what could have been.
Washington had 29 points and 17 rebounds last night in a 75-60 Southern Oregon loss versus Oregon State.
Wednesday, he had 18 points and 7 rebounds in a 75-58 loss to the University of Oregon.

I can't understand the whole "homesick" issue because I've never experienced it.
It's amazing to me that a kid would accept a scholarship at a university far from his hometown, family, and friends and then leave school before he's even completed his first year. It's too bad there isn't some psych test that can be administered to show this tendency; it seems to happen in college sports quite a bit and it sucks for the schools - who else might we have received Washington's scholarship if Mick had known the kid couldn't hack being away from home?

If you look at the Box score for the game you will notice the name of McGillis listed down the line. He was 0-0, BUT this also indicates he made the active team this year ... ie no redshirt year. One of the top state of Oregon recruits from last year, Josh Tarver who plays the same possition as McGillis is going to be redshirted. Not bad for Mcgillis, a kid who both Montana D-1 coaches were not willing to take a chance by offereing him a scholarship. MISTAKE!
Yes you guy's are going to have to listen to this for the next 4 years!!

I have to agree with that one. I think the Montana schools need to go for Montana players, I think. I remember a stretch in the 1990s where MSU got Montana's Gatorade player of the year about seven years in a row. McGillis was a "miss the boat" situation and I hope he does well out there.

I think this game was actually considered an exhibition. Does that mean that redshirt players could enter the game?

I don't think so...none of the MSU freshmen were even suited up for our first exhibition game.

I was wondering the same thing.
