This may signal an end to the conference hunt for the Dakotas as SDSU was just invited to the MidCon for swimming and diving (NDSU does not offer those sports). Many seem to think that this is a signal that the MidCon will look to invite the Dakotas for all sports other than Football.......
This would kill any further interest by the Dakotas at the Big Sky...

The Mid-Con sponsors an all-time high of 19 championship sports, which includes: baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's outdoor track & field, men's and women's tennis, and volleyball.
The conference doesn't have football... What good is a conference without football!

Maybe this will motivate the Big Sky Presidents to quit jerking the Dakotas around-before that opportunity slips away we end up scrambling for members.

University's join different conferences for different sports.
Since the BSC doesn't have Swimming, Golf, Men's Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, etc. Conference members join other conferences for those sports.
Doesn't mean a team will not join the BSC for football and Basketball, nor does it mean that BSC teams will not join other conferences for other sports.
Means nothing?

I think some BSC teams are in other conferences for sports that the BSC doesn't offer. PSU might be in the Pac-10 in wrestling, I think. And Sac St. is probably in a league for baseball. Something like this might not affect NDSU and SDSU's future Big Sky membership.
