The Griz bandwagon is backing up for loading

It is interesting to see that so many of my fellow GRiz fans are finally seeing the light regarding our head coach and his sidekick O-coordinator. The "dump Bobby" bandwagon is filling quickly. It just takes some fans a bit longer than others to see the light.
After the Griz lose to Cal Poly this weekend, many more will jump on. Perhaps we really CAN get rid of these coaches, and prevent the demise of our once-dominant football program which has been reduced to mediocrity by Hauck and staff.

Ok lets here your genius plan as to how we should have stopped Erik Meyer & Kimble. Easily the best duo in the nation. I want hard core details too!

Ask ISU, they did it.

Preasure the QB, cause turnovers (ISU got 4), Out play them on Special teams.
Run the ball keep them off the field
Out score them 50 maybe 60.

First, hire a head coach who is qualified to be the head coach.
Second, recruit some players with skills equal to Erick and Eric. You have the biggest recruiting advantage in all of IAA football, so, it shouldn't be too hard. Wasn't difficult for your three predecessors, but obviously is for you
Third, hire an offensive coordinator who is a winner, and who can design a college offense, instead of the Little Grizzly offense we watch weekly (or is that weakly?).

Just what I thought, you will criticize the coaches to no end yet you have no answers. So you basically just proved my point that you are not qualified to tell the coaches how to do their jobs. A 3rd grader could have said get better players. Thanks

Wolfman, I can't, in all honesty, disagree with a lot of what you have to say about the coaching staff for the Griz, but your posts leave me with more than a few questions.
Most noteably...do you think your constant drum beating about Bobby, and his staff taking the Griz down, burying them in mediocrity, with the talent thats available, on any BSC message board that will listen, and hasn't banned you will change anything?
Changes need to be made with our coaching, but as a Griz fan, I GET YOUR POINT...GIVE IT A REST. These people don't want to hear it.

I will NEVER back off of the immediate need for the athletic department to make coaching changes. We will never enjoy Griz football like we did under the previous 3 head coaches until BOBBY GOES!
Unlike you, Matic, I WILL NOT sit here while Hauck flushes this program down the sh*tter!
Are you going to be singing the same tune after Hauck loses to the Cats again this year? It's "fans" like you who are bad for the program, because you accept mediocrity. I will NOT!
I have been banned from only one board, esugar.com, due to the fact that I am too truthful about Griz athletics.
AnacondaGriz, I spelled it out for you, as you asked. Apparently, it was bit too much for your limited mental prowess.

I admire your spirit.
If you're in a position to do something about coaching changes, Wolfman, good for you. I guess voicing your opinion on message boards looks to be the logical first step in getting needed changes made.
Not sure what song I'll be singing if the Griz lose to the Cats this year, but whatever it is, it won't be pretty, but I've sang that song before because I was with the Griz through Gene Carlson, and Larry Donovan...I can handle Bobby Hauck's tenure, so I'll stick around a little while longer. If it gets too much for me, I know I'll probably be able to watch some good football 200 miles to the East.
Good luck on your crusade.

I never know how you are going to post from week to week Jag, but this is the most sensible post you have ever written. Good work!
The real sad thing is that it is true!

Matic, that's EXACTLY what it is. I want to get the morose, apathetic Griz fans fired up and start a revolt against this pathetic product we are forced to watch each week. It's much more about how inept we play, rather than whether we win, at least for me.
I am sick and tired of just "accepting" that the Griz offense in for sh*t. We have the talent to be much better, at least we USED to have the talent. Our resident recruiting genius, has not recruited any game-changers on offense, nor a QB of the calibre we have been used to for many years.
I read what is being said on esugar.com, and it is basically a resolve by fans that things are down now, and we should just wait until next year. We will be much worse next year than we are this year. We lose Talmage and oour two best O-linemen from the offense. We lose McIntyre, Murphy, and Saenz, our only All Conference defensive players. How will we be better? Where are the impact players waiting in the wings to take up the slack? Hell, Hauck plays all of the freshmen now, so we get to see their talent level. Joyce is the only one who will be an impact player on defense. Maybe Utterback, if he recovers completely.
So, why is the future looking so bright?
We need to RISE UP and DEMAND a change in coaching! It's the ONLY way to fix this situation. The Cat fans are praying that i'm not successful in stirring up a Hauck revolt. They just love pummeling Bobby every year.

I don't want to get in the middle of a griz-pissing match here, but I do want to throw out an observation (can you imagine??).
I read a lot on here and moreso on egriz about all this "great talent" this current Griz team has that is being underutilized and/or poorly coached. I'm sorry, but I DON'T SEE IT. They've got Hilliard, who is definitely a solid tailback, second only to Rubin in the Big Sky and most likely one of the top 5 runners in I-AA, and Talmage who is above average at best; no way is he in the same category as a Kimble or Gatewood as far as opponents having to gameplan for him; Murphy is a definite stud, Saenz, Joyce & a couple others on the D are better than average; but after that there's not NEARLY the talent of past Griz teams. This may be the softest O-line they've had; there's NO question that this receiving corps is the least talented in the last decade; and we all know the weakest link for the entire team is at QB.
I'm sorry, I just don't see all this supposed talent the Griz have. IMO, it's just symptomatic of fans who have been spoiled by a decade & a half of success and who just ASSUME that the Griz players are better than everyone else's simply because they play for the Griz. Like it or not, Griz fans, the fact from this (and I think many other) fan's perspective is this is the LEAST talented Griz team, overall, that they've had since Read started the playoff streak 12 years ago.
Now, I realize that they could "put it all together" as they did a year ago; they may yet have ENOUGH talent to still make the playoffs. But I simply don't think this Griz team is going to strike as much fear in opponent's hearts as previous teams did. If Cal Poly wins this Saturday, PSU and MSU both will have a different perspective on the Griz than they've had in years past; I think both those teams will EXPECT to beat the Griz, which has rarely been the case in the past 10+ years...

As much as it pains me to say it, what El says is undeniable, and could very well be taken to any bank in the free world, but we ain't dead yet.

Gato, you are right on the money. This is indeed the weakest group of players the Griz have fielded since 1990 or so. Where are the skill players? Where are the game breakers? The answer is, there aren't any.
I disagree with you that Talmage is just "above average". I think he is a GREAT possession receiver. He makes lots of incredible catches in traffic.
But, I agree with everything else you said. Our receivers are slow, run poor routes, and have poor hands. Our QBs are not IAA calibre. Our O-line is perhaps the weakest in a decade.
The best players BY FAR on the team, are all seniors, EXECEPT for Joyce, who I think will be a real stud. McIntyre, Murphy, Edwards, Saenz.....all gone next year. The younger players who Bobby plays now are adequate, but not game-changers.
We will be a very weak Big Sky team next year. Our O-line loses its two best players. We lose Talmage and Simpson. We have no game-breakers waiting in the wings.
Griz fans are banking on Berquist developing and being our savior next season. What they won't acknowledge is the fact that we lose most of our key players on both sides of the ball, and their replacements are not as good as the ones we lose. How can we be better next season?>
People need to FACE THE FACTS and get out of this denial mode. Hauck has brought this great program to its knees! Things will get worse next year! We need to get him out of there and start rebuilding.

You've forgotten that your BEST player IS back next year; Lex.
Otherwise, I agree with you; they lose most of the best of what they are currently fielding.
One specific observation regarding Bergquist (which I've also seen posted several times on egriz): At this point, I have to question his arm strength; his deep balls have all appeared to be floating downfield; he tends to get too much "air" under them & I won't be surprised if he starts to get baited and picked by some of the league's better DB's (which might start this Saturday).

I think Bobby has some game changer type guys, but they are all on D. Utterback (out of sight out of mind I guess), Joyce is a complete stud, Metter is doing quite good. Bierman and Murphy are both game changer type guys. When all is said and done Bierman will go down as a great DE. He may be the most athletic DE we've got, and that is saying a lot. Though Dlouhy is the fastest, and not a Hauck recruit. Murphy is a Hauck recruit and is taking on double teams and beating them. Murphy is one of the top DE in I-AA, and definately high on the list for the BSC.
Other than loosing Saenz, the Griz D will be significantly better next year, than this year.
As far as offense goes, get back to me. It doesn't look to promising. Though I do see a diamond in the rough in Thomas Brooks-Fletcher. Nobody seems to have talked about him, but I watched him in practice a few times prior to him getting hurt. He is the real deal. If he stays healthy, Griz fans are going to love how this kid plays.

Don't know much about him, is he injury-prone/plagued?
