On paper, this shouldn't be close. Eastern, I hope stays healthy all year. Anyone else think we're going to match up better this year? Anyway, I'm going to try and make this game and then do some fishing. Last year was the largest salmon run ever and this year is supposed to have even more fish coming up river.

We will see how SHSU rebuilds after losing so much last year, including their HC. They did ge KC Keeler, who coached at Delaware when they made their title runs.

Eastern Washington plays Sam Houston State 23 August 2014? Damn, is football season coming closer and closer or what? I thought I still had some breathing room. Hope, for no other reason that it'll make the BSC appear better than it really is, that EWU wins the game.

Remember when EWU won it all and then lost the first 4-5 games the next season? I think they're more stable now, but football is a crazy game.

This piece of history should be concerning to our friends to the west. A big reason that EWU team had such a bad start was the O Line was crushed with graduations and injuries, and some of the key cogs graduated on defense. EWU still had their all world quarterback and many of the other skill positions were intact, but it just didn't matter (at least in their 0-4 start). This is a similar situation that um finds itself IMO.
Anyway, I'm really excited about this game and can't believe it's only a week from Saturday.

EWU in 2011, MSU last year. Injuries can be killers. The Griz may be in some trouble with their oline this year...

Eags are 7pt favorites. This game should be a big time EWU victory but Sam Houston has given us fits. Keeler is a good coach. His style is run the football run the clock type game but the o coordinator from D2 he brought in wants to go a million miles an hour, should be interesting. Should be a high scoring game but I think ewu takes it to shsu...

Just to watch Keeler and Baldwin is worth the trip. What you did to our pressure last year was a thing of beauty as far as coaching. Can't wait to see how Keeler handles the sidelines and Adam's ability to go over the top.
Other things I'm looking at just so I can say "I was there" is the fact that Sam Houston is the second most difficult school in Texas for entrance, second only to Rice. As you know Texas has a number of institution one must be "smarter than the average bear" for admittance. (Can't help myself). As last year's freshman class at Washington was 95 percent nonresident, I see your enrollment and facilities growing extremely fast and provided your team avoids injuries, you could well be positioned for an Ape State-NDSU type run which will only serve to enhance your number of applicants, hence the quality of applicants.
Make sure you hang on to Baldwin. If a kid loves to fish, I find it difficult to understand why he'd go anyplace else.

Here in Helena I get espn radio. No internet or TV service right now. Any idea if it will be heard on some station? Can't find it on their website.

Last year the SMU game was aired on 950AM in Helena, so I'm assuming this year's game will too. Also the Motherlode showed the game on TV. The Quarry did not.
That's all I know for Helena.

I don't know bout the rest of you but I am pulling for EWU today and the next couple games, and the rest of the Big Sky for that matter. The better we all do in these non conference games the better it looks for the Big Sky.

EWU may be able to score on anybody but doesn't seem to look like they have fixed their defensive woes yet. Fun game to watch
