All is well in Calimissou!. JJ is innocent. It's all over.
P.S - Watch the NCAA tag them with a 1-2 year playoff ban now. I think JJ was just one side of the story.

...can always hold out for that inevitable NCAA playoff ban......I hear some of those deranged Griz fans are actually glad that Johnson was found innocent and may again play for the Griz. This is starting to remind me of the OJ situation.

Anyone remember the new player conduct rules the Griz just instated a year ago? Embarrasing the University and stuff like that?

What's his eligibility?

Well, he was found not guilty in a court of law, and suffered mightily throughout this whole process, so I really have no problem with him coming back and playing for UM. I hope they lose every game to MSU, of course, but I hope the rest of his life and career (professional, not football) is very successful and that he never has any run-ins with the legal system ever again.
I hope for the same and more for the accuser.
I think this was a horrible situation for everyone involved, and I hope they all recover from it as well as possible.

I for one am glad to see JJ reinstated. He was cleared of the charges and deserves to be given an oppertunity to play. Not to mention when we beat the Griz with him under center we wont hear the line of well if JJ was on the field..........

I think he played 2, then last season would be his redshirt, and he has 2 left.
Interesting because did the 5 yrs to play 5 rule for the FCS pass? If so, JJ would have been able to play 5 prior to all of this.

Absolutely he should be reinstated. He paid the price for any indiscretions he had that led up to the trial.
I'm sure the NCAA will reinstate his red-shirt year as that is the precedent they've set, so he'll have 3 years to play 2.

Cat fans should be happy about this.
Montana has it's stud QB and spirit that was unjustly taken back.
-ZERO excuses-

CAN'T F'N WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON
GO GRIZ

Yep, it definitely makes the CAT-grizz game a lot more interesting. Hard to say right now just how good each team will be when that game rolls around, but just having JJ back on the field after the media circus is going to be a circus in itself.
I would be surprised if UM doesn't set an attendance record this year. No such thing as bad press and he definitely kept them in the media. His not guilty verdict and reinstatement has to energize their fan base. egriz.com has been like a FCS championship post-game celebration since last Friday. His reinstatement is like a parade down Main Street.

I've been reading about the demise of the Griz program for months on this site. It's only one guy!! How do they fall so far and get back to the top 5 with only one change?

Has that one poster that opined that they would be in the top 5 been one of those people who has been posting about the demise of the Griz program? If not, then your post doesn't make much sense. If so, then address the question to him specifically. It's pretty clear that there are lots of different opinions being expressed on this site from a lot of different people.

Sorry BAC.....I'll look for comments about the demise in the 3 or 4 "JJ" threads you've got going over here. Hadn't noticed any so far which was my point. The "demise mongerers" must be working on some new material and having a hard time finding any. Cats' OL/DL and front seven should be tough next year too!!

Congrats to Jordan Johnson on being reinstated to the UM football team. Hopefully this sparks more progress toward a stable environment. More than being on the field and winning, I think time and a long gap and lowered frequency of criminal accusations will be UM's biggest ally. Cheers!

As Rob Ash has said to me just before fall camp two years running, if you have 21 standout players and the 22nd, the quarterback, is mediocre, you have a mediocre team, something the Bobcats experienced post-Lulay.
But if you have 21 solid players and a star player and leader under center, you're a championship team. Football is the consummate sport, but quarterback is the most important and difficult position in sports.
Without JJ, the Griz proved to be a middle-of-the-pack Big Sky team. With him, they were semifinalists. They will again be among the nationally elite with Johnson back under center.

Do you remember seeing the guy play? If not just reference his last five games against FCS opponents in 2011. Also, what makes the NCAA ban "inevitable"?
one thing not really being discussed is his (projected) impact on the defense and keeping them fresh. I have a hard time believing the Griz will only convert 41% of third downs with him behind center

I completely agree with what people are saying about him helping bring the Griz back up to a power. He really is a great QB, but my thought is how will they be at the beginning of the year. I could see them being great at the end of the year like they were two years ago, but do you think they will be great right out of the gate. I just see players miss a fair amount of time and they just aren't the same when they come back. Don't get me wrong, I think Johnson can play, but can they hang on with him at the beginning of the year so they have the ability to make a run once the playoffs come back around. I could see him being back to his old ways by the end of the year, but will he and the team have enough time with him to jell?
That is just something I've been wondering and probably only time will answer that question.

I don't know just how good Johnson is yet (he may get better and be better than DMac (some people think he already is), but there was a huge drop off between him and McKinney and SSH. Huge.
