Big Sky Conference games of the week

Post by jjohnston » Mon Oct 22, 2012 12:22 pm

Does Southern Utah have what it takes to beat EWU at home to help us out with playoff seeding? EWU won what appears to be a squeaker (on paper anyway) against Sac State....and SUU is better than their record shows IMO.

Can Sac State upset Cal Poly at home???

And it goes without saying that we HAVE to beat UND this weekend.

Thoughts?

Does Eastern getting beat necessarily help our playoff seeding? I would almost prefer they keep winning to make a close, turnover-plagued loss to them look better..

That's a good point. I was thinking strictly in terms of a Cat win coupled with an EWU loss vaulting us ahead of EWU in overall ranking.

IMHO if MSU wins out then yes, an EWU loss would absolutely help. If MSU stumbles at any point I would think we would want EWU to keep winning.

I want an Eastern loss to keep our chance at a third straight conference title alive

I think SUU has the offense to move the ball and score on Eastern. But I am not sure they have the defense to slow down EWU's scoring. I predict this being the highest scoring game of the weekend in the Big Sky

I think Sac has a really good chance of upsetting Cal Poly. Sac played the #1 team in the nation very close and they should be feeling very motivated to finish the deal on another top 15 team. Sac is also trying to keep their post season chances alive and should play very motivated this weekend.

UND on the other hand may come out flat after the very emotional game at home against the griz. If the Cats get on the team formally know as Sioux we should be able to coast later and or dominate like McGhee and company wanted to do from the first snap this year.

Other than the SUU and EWU game being the highest scoring games of the weekend (would never have guessed we would score 55 or UM would put up 70) my predictions at the start of the week were pretty good if I do say so myself
