#2 Montana beats Albany 35 - 14
#3 UMass beats Maine 38 - 7
#4 UNI beats Drake 21-7
#5 NDSU beating Central Michigan 44 - 14 at the time of this post
Who do you think is gonna be #1?

I'd have to guess that the Griz will move up.

The way things normally go you'd think that to be the case. Our offense, and CB in particular, looked really good today. But UMass has some road wins. Montana doesn't.

If it were my vote, I would have UNI number 1.

You actually have to
go on the road to get a road victory.

What about NDSU?

If the polls meant anything, they would make the team that has played the toughest schedule and so far gone undefeated with the #1 spot.
Instead, I assume UM will just move up by default.
I'm really impressed by both NDSU and Northern Iowa.

Good question. The way things normally shake out (if you win....even if playing a bad team and you beat them well) you don't drop.
But #2 Montana hasn't beaten anyone worth a shi* (Albany showed up for the 1st half). And neither has #3 UMass. #4 UNI and #5 NDSU have beaten quality teams.
Not that it any of it really matters....seeing's how we play in a league that....at the end of the year....puts the best 16 teams in a tournament in order to determine a correct champion.

The Griz schedule is doing exactly what they wanted it to do....they will be #1 after this weekend.
And if they keep this going, which I think they could....except for when they play us, it will get them home playoff games - which is what they are literally banking on.

Northern Iowa. They beat Iowa State who beat Iowa... They are the best in Iowa, and that state plays some pretty good football.
UM hasn't beat anyone, therefore they shouldn't be #1, but they likely will be due to the preseason polls.

They'd get my vote as well. And frankly, I wish they would. I don't like having a bull's eye on my back. As long we're at least #2 come playoffs I'll be happy.

Seriously, why UMass instead of UNI or NDSU?

My votes would be:
1. UMass
2. UNI
3. NDSU
4. Montana
5. App State
I'd pick UMass because they return a title-game team, and they just went to Maine and put a PASTING on a pretty decent football team. UNI and NDSU are impressive. And of course, although App lost today, they have certainly proven plenty.

Even with a loss I would have Appy above the griz. I have NDUS #1, Appy #2, Griz #3, UNI#4, and Mass #5
