I fail to see your point. It was a poll question, and over 80% of the respondants said it was too early to state that this was the most talented team and that the question was best asked after the season. I have read on this board on more than one occasion since spring ball that this is the most talented D-Line, Linebackers, and Tight Ends that the Cats have ever had. Every team has it's fans that this time of year think this is the best team yet. Present company included.

It's just restlessness waiting for the worst part of the year to finally come to a close.

But it was good for a chortle.

This makes me laugh. In the best humor there are kernels of truth.

This is our board, so of course a Cat fan will find hyperbolic griz fan comments amusing.

So this year we have a team that features 4 running backs that could start at any other school in the conference, 3 game-breaking 6'4" receivers, a massive O-line with 2 returning all-americans plus another nfl-calibre o-lineman, and most back from a defense that was probably the best ever last year. In his first year of coaching only "his" recruits, Bobby Hauck has managed to ammass a staggering amount of talent. But, is this the most talented Griz team ever?

I'm sure this guys provides a tad of confidence in one position, along with about 3 other guys helping out at the same position.

I think we all need to lighten up for the next two weeks. I have noticed a certain edge on a lot of posters. I think we are just anxious as hell to get the season started.

The Griz have very average receivers. Chambers has more ability than the others but he is either hurt or has a bad attitude and doesn't play much.

TE's seem to be talented, big and fast. Phen Phen will waste that talent.

Lex and Coleman are very good.

TBF is the worst all around back in the stable, he is the worst blocker and pass protector I have ever seen play at UM. He has some juke moves but not break away speed. He got ran down alot.

Bradshaw is very fast but seems to have no heart and doesn't play hard.

Utterback is solid and runs very hard, isn't the most elusive.

OL could be good

Cole Bergquist is solid and a playmaker, I think he will surprise some people this year even though he doesn't have the best people to throw to.

Selle so far is very average, he does seem smart and shows the ability to pick up things very fast. His arm strength and accuracy are suspect.

Larson is a stud, but is inaccurate and inconsistant. Great athlete and plays hard and nasty.

Our DL will be fair to average like it is most every year.

LB is definitely the A+ of the team very fast, very deep. Their speed shocked me last year in the Iowa game.

CB who knows what we will have after losing some key thugs.

Safety's are good and solid.

Over all this team is C+/B- solid all the way around but definitely not even in the top 5 as far as talent.

Some people forget the players we had on the 94,95,96,00,01,04 teams.

I got this from a coach.

He is trying to rehab his shoulder so he won't need surgery this year. He seems to still be on the team, take it for what it's worth.

this is funny to me because the cats do the same thing. Every single year the griz say they have the best team EVER, and every single year the bobcats say we have the best team EVER! (well at least we are saying that about our D this year). My opinion, the griz are pretty stacked at D, should have a solid team as usual. The Bobcats will have an incredible Defense (who knows, could end up being one of the best), but our offense still has a lot to prove. Both the cats and griz forget to really look in the past when your talking about all time greats, both schools have had some crazy talent at every position over the last decade or two or three.

This is exactly what I was trying to say earlier. If you look on every message board in the nation. Each one has fans saying this team is going to be the best ever. It probably even happens at Prairie View. It is a way for us fans to pass the time until the season starts and we can exaggerate about the last weeks game and how much bettter we are going to be this week.

Ohhh no. Next year will certainly not be UM's best. They lose a LOT of talent after this season. But FWIW, on paper, I could easily make the arguement that this is Montana's DEEPEST team. But best? I would agree that needs to be discussed after the season.

Quit bashing Prairie View, they have enough problems to deal with.

Alpha, TBF is far better than you give credit for. Did you watch him step up last season? He is very hard to bring down. Sure he does need to block better. But the kid is a good back with a lot of skill both running and catching. The blocking will come I hope. But he is very smart, hell get it. Lex, TBF, Coleman, and Bradshaw all belong at this level or higher. Not sure if any other RB down the list will ever be starting material, but I haven't had a chance to watch much practice this year either.

Griz WR aren't all world. If Chambers could get his head on straight and his health he would be very good. But you are selling EA short to call him average, he has just about everything but breakaway speed. Marianni is a stud too, quite fast, and good hands, and a feel for the position. I thought it was disgusting that he didn't see the field last year at WR. He is light years better than Troxel will ever be, no offense to MT. Griz are experienced and tough at WR, and do have a couple guys who have it.

Have to admit I would take Lex over any of our RB's by far if he's at 100%. after that my next choice is Mason. TBF would probably be 4th or 5th string on the Bobcats... from what I saw out of him last year.

My $.02.

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

If we are combining both teams RB's I would take:

1. Lex
2. Coleman
3. Mason
4. Bradshaw
5. Utterback
6. Taito
7. TBF

And seventh is a generous 7th for TBF

TBF is going to be a star in this league. And he will be already this year if he gets some carries.
