What boggles the mind is why anyone would WANT to play at EWU other than because they are a good team. Get this kid a recruiting visit and show him what a real college town looks like! And a football stadium that isn't built around a circus act turf project!

If he goes somewhere else than MSU, we didn't want him any way.

Because we have a recent NC... because we're a threat to go deep in the playoffs.... because of the family-like, tight-knit bond of the players and coaches..... because we've been sending more and more players to the NFL recently..... because the program is rising steadily (Scoreboard, Gateway Project)..... because Cheney isn't in bumf*ck Montanada, and has Spokane nearby.... because having a unique field is a point of pride for our players.... because historically EWU has dominated MSU.....

Would you like some more?

I think Cheney is a great little college town. EWU has always had ripe pickins from western Washington and is a big part of their tradition of success.

All D1 athletes need to meet same admission standards.

While I'm not going to say that MSU is or isn't any tougher than EWU that statement is just silly. The athletes at Harvard, Yale, Stanford and on and on are held to a much higher standard academically. Just because the NCAA standards are the same everywhere DOES NOT mean every school has the same admission standards.

True, however, harvard and yale dont offer athletic schollies. Admission requirements at places like Cal, UCLA, USC, WASHINGTON....etc is much, much lower for athletes than it is for the non athlete student body.

No one in the big sky has stringent admission requirements. In most cases,.if a kid can pass the ncaa clearinghouse, they'll be admitted to a big sky school.

Ewu has some special deal to let in kids in special situations. And by that I mean extra poor grades.

Yep....msu can do that as well. Its essentially a grey shirt year.

Not sure if it was grades, test scores, or credits, but I think salanoa took advantage of a grey shirt.

I guess they don't have the corner on the Prop 48 market but they go after these risky recruits much more often. MSU learned from taking risks on recruits and go after more well rounded individuals.

I was just trying to piss off SE174. Desired effect was achieved.
