The thing that surprised me about this year is the fact that you had TWO schools from the same state competing at the top level. When you look around the country, in most states where you have two big rivals, it seems to be atypical that BOTH are top notch at the same time. Typically when one is up the other is down, especially when they are both heavily recruiting in state talent in a small population state.. Tennessee and Vandy were an exception this year. Both were pretty good, and in fact Vandy beat the crap out of the primary flagship public university in the state. Michigan and Michigan State provide a decent example of what I mean.
But as much as I would like to see UM decline (and I don't mean terribly, just enough that we are still clearly superior--so we can still haul in the best recruits in the state) I think all the money that the Washington family has funded in terms of facilities will always make them an attractive place to play.
The one area that we are still behind UM is stadium capacity. Dang I sure would like to see those four big gaps around Bobcat Stadium that separate the end zones from the sideline stands filled in somehow to make our stadium more like a bowl and at LEAST get the capacity closer to Washington Family Mecca Stadium.

UM was good. They were the third best team in the BSC. Davis was better.aucat wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 9:50 pmThe thing that surprised me about this year is the fact that you had TWO schools from the same state competing at the top level. Neither Cat-Gris game was as close as the score. If Gilman is called for facemask we win 38-21 there. They caught a huge break the second game when Dowler got hurt or it’s 48-9.
