Watching the introductory presser. How many times is he going to say "okay"? Its his favorite word.

Haha, that's funny!

He did say OK alot. But he came across as personable and certainly excited. It will be interesting to see how he can engage the public, said he intended to be in most, if not all of the Montana schools. You gotta have goals, so that's good. But he's got a tall order ahead of him to become THE guy, to make the gris team into his team, and at least make the playoffs. I'm sure he's campaigning hard to keep all his current players and recruits. If he's a player's coach and a genuinely nice guy, as I've read, he may keep it all together for this year. The verdict is still out.

Maybe I'm just showing my age, or maybe appearance just doesn't matter anymore...but how about dressing up a little bit for your first presser? At least a collared shirt or a decent 3/4 zip sweatshirt. I can't imagine Coach Vigen showing up to something like this in a sweatshirt, let alone one that doesn't fit and looks like it was just pulled out of the dirty clothes pile. Sorry - but if there is one thing I appreciate about Coach Vigen, it's his professionalism. From how he appears to how he handles himself in front of a camera. We still have the best guy possible for the job.

Most new coaches get a 3 year deal so you can see their vision. Kennedy got 1 year. What do you tell 2027 recruits and their coaches as you visit schools. That seems like a tough sell to convince kids you and your staff will be there when the kid enrolls.

Good point. He said he wanted this to be his last job, but they sure haven't set him up that way. Not to say if he's successful he could be retained, but this seems more like a quick fix to give them time to find the guy they really want. So yes, selling "his" program won't be easy.

As much as Cat fans would love to see an epic collapse in their program, I just don't see it happening. They've still got a lot of talent, good facilities, and a home-field advantage similar to MSU and NDSU. They are still a good program and will be among the top 5-10 teams in the FCS.

They will go 9-3, with losses to Oregon State, UC Davis and the defending national champion Montana State University Bobcats - man, that never gets old saying that!! That will earn them an opening round bye and a seed (because all the pollsters love themselves some griz). They will easily get to quarters where they will have to be on the road. They will lose, because we all know that the griz can't win playoff games on the road. They will finish the season with an overall record of 10-4, which will be good enough for Haslam and the boosters to approve a 3-year deal with Coach Sweatshirt.

Not sure what you saw in my post they couldn't have success next year or they will collapse. Just thi k it is difficult to sell a vision when kids know you and your staff may not be the guys in the room when you get to college.

While they probably won’t have a meltdown, they’re still a long way from breaking into the FCS elite/Big 3.

SDSU, NDSU and MSU are still head and shoulders above the rest of the FCS. Illinois State, like UCD and USD last year, is knocking on the door. If SDSU has another off year maybe you can say they’re not in the elite group.

I expect the MVFC is going to be really strong next year. Stronger than usual.

MSU - 17 team National Champions (most recent 2025); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Yeah, but those ummms come with a side of National Championship so we're fine with it.

You can't spell dUMb without UM and now you can't spell grizzLLies without 2 Ls.

It will be interesting to see how much rope they give Coach Kennedy. He steps into head spot with the framework already in place to operate.

The Griz staff has not changed much over the years and has a ton of experience on it… for better or worse.

With all the upheaval in the Big Sky in coaching staffs - have an inherent advantage of having same structure year to year.

With that setup I am sure Coach Kennedy will be making good on his promise to recruit all parts of the State. He brings a different energy from the head coach spot which should help them.

On MSU side - we will have our hands full replacing Coach Howe who the players could rely on. We have a ton of turnover on our side to manage. Coach Vigen is good putting a staff together, but I expect some struggles with all the turnover.

Only thing that is annoying is that hardcore Griz fans think all their prayers are now answered and nobody but Griz will win games. Arrogance in waiting.

Why are you expecting struggles. How is this year's turnover worse than prior years under Vigen.
