Lane Kiffin to LSU

Post by exppi » Sun Nov 30, 2025 6:50 pm

Figured I would post this here. Lane Kiffin bailing in Ole Miss for LSU. He’s taking his OC, GM, and strength coach from what I read. Sounds like fans are not happy at all.

Championships don't mean anything in FBS. It's about the money for coaches and players. Just make the top tier a pro level, do contracts that don't have huge buyouts, and have no firings until season over, portal in spring, OTA'S in summer.

All the more reason to appreciate loyalty in Vigen. Sure, he's interviewed, and will continue, but he's respectable enough to not want to decimate the program when he leaves. Money talks for sure, but some guys have morals and ethics too. Though this college ball landscape will become harder for guys like that to be successful. It'll fall on their current schools to work hard, and pay up, to keep them.

But how much money is worth it? He was making $9M a year at Ole Miss and was already one of the highest paid coaches in the country. I read this morning the OC backed out of going to LSU as well. Sounds like he has to build a new staff at LSU.
