Agree, but couldn’t happen to a better school.

Maybe Pease is all they could afford. The only other explanation that makes sense to me is nobody at the UI athletic department knows how to use google.

This is true... Brent Pease is not a good coach and he is nearly as big of a jackass as Hauck is. Nobody at Washington or Florida could stand that guy.

Holy crap, the Idaho message board seems pretty excited for Pease.

Spud nation seems to like him. They have been delusional since before their FBS days so that suggests he’s just the next phase of the train wreck. Pease sounds like a great fit!

An absolutely insignificant tidbit, but I am going to post it none the less. I was living in Houston when the NFL players went on strike and the teams used "replacement players". Brent Pease was the Oiler's quarterback and did pretty well. I believe he remained on the roster for a while after the strike was settled.

Petersen pretty much never fires coaches, and he fired Pease. Tells you a lot. Brent used to be good friends with Choate, but isn’t anymore. He’s burnt a lot of bridges.

I believe it was after the SUU game, it seemed a lot of Gris fans were not very happy with Pease. If Idaho doesn’t get a big name from a big school, their losing tradition is going to continue. No way Pease gets them back to the top of the Big Sky.

I mean, what a great hire. Pease actually coached under the co-inventor of football...

I don't think he's been hired yet, has he? I think its still in the rumor/speculation phase but I could be wrong.

I would imagine they are waiting for UM's season to end.

I don’t want to start a whole thread about it, but thinking about Idaho made me think about how much it sucks rooting for a D 1-A G5 team. Every once in a while, I see a Bobcat fan talk about moving up. I couldn’t disagree more.

I’m a lifelong San Diego State fan. They had a great, one loss season, and then fell flat against USU in the MWC championship. So their prize for a two loss year?

They get to face Texas San Antonio in the “Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl.” What a privilege. I doubt I’ll watch it.

I agree. I don’t think playing in a division where you have no chance of competing for a national championship is a move up.

Not sure where to put this, but there’s another FCS job open — ETSU.

Surely an offensive coordinator with one foot out the door (actually both feet out the door with a headlamp on) wouldn't cause any sort of distraction. Overall I'd much prefer they hire Pease though given what I think of the quality of each of those coaches.
