I thought Boise St. would be a great fit in the Mountain West, even better than TCU due to closer proximity to most of the MWC schools. I think now TCU is a good fit (Mountain West champs) and I don't think the MWC will pick a team away from the WAC. For now, I don't see UM or MSU making that jump.

Wether a few Boise State fans think so or not, Boise will not be joining the MWC. Academically, with thier community college function, it is often pointed out that they have a truck driving program. BYU and Utah will not associate with that kind of of school.

Besides, most years the WAC has had better teams than the MWC since the split atleast at the top. The WAC is also going be on ESPN more that the goats are going to CSTV. The MWC is not all that great no matter how they try to spin it. TCU comes in after finishing 6-5 the year before in CUSA and then kicks butt in the MWC the next. If it was not for TCU, the MWC would have a bunch 6-5 teams, most better than several WAC teams but the WAC teams will be getting better.

I will make a prediction that a WAC team goes further in the NCAA tournament than a MWC team. And the NCAA tournament gives most I-a leagues more money than thier bowl games do. The WAC will also have 3 or 4 teams in bowls again comparable to the MWC.

I'm going to agree with your statement. A WAC team will go much farther in the NCAA tournament. Nevada could be a Sweet 16 team or better. The Mountain West doesn't look that strong in basketball to me.
