The ONLY thing the Griz have to live for at this point is beating the Cats. They are at the bottom of the conference, no playoff hopes at all, therefore the one thing they will be resting on is their ability to win the last game at home. Based on what I saw Saturday I feel good about our chances however.

After two straight losses I think it is safe to say that the Cat Griz game at the end of the season is their season. They may even start planing this week for it

That's about all that's left to salvage of their season, which makes them dangerous in November.

In other news; Mick Delaney for President.

Perhaps Moore will go for a medical redshirt and preserve a year. Alpha, your thoughts?

I know he already sat out a year, but was it a redshirt or a greyshirt that was used?

That said, it sounds like the coaches are hoping to have him back on the field in the next week or two.

That is good for him and probably bad for us. They are a much better team with Moore on the field just like we are with Kirk on the field

It is certainly a role reversal isn't it?. Seems strange...

But who cares about the griz - it is a great day to be a CAT fan!

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

They are a much better team with Smithwyck-Hann at QB. At least their offense has the ability to score more quickly. They have the tools for a great pro-style offense but the coaches are way too late. They should have made the change weeks ago and if they had started him at UND they may have won.....and EWU and NAU.....

I disagree, UND would have still got the ball and score on the first posession of the game.

Caught the very last of the coaches show from dUMb last night (not trying it just ran late because of debate). The news guy kept saying that the griz d line was the most consistent of the whole team (all year)

I really believe they'll win their next two games. Obviously there's no way they're going to lose at home against ISU, and I think they'll eke out a close win at WSU as well, especially now that they have a QB who can actually complete a pass longer than 15 yards. Why they didn't make that change a long time ago is completely baffling to me. That means they'll go into Cat-Griz at 5-5, needing a win to avoid their first losing season in 27 years (and to finish .500 in BSC play). They will be playing with their hair on fire the whole game, even more so than in a "typical" Cat-Griz game (if that''s possible). We better have our mistakes/turnovers issue cleaned up by then, because I think it will be a very close game, despite UM's struggles thus far. Along with their pourous pass defense, their biggest problem has been mistakes/turnovers, just like us. It's a cliche, but I really believe Cat-Griz will come down to which team does a better job in that area. I've learned better than to ever be overconfident about Cat-Griz. I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself, with three tough games remaining before 11/17, but once we get to late October, it's hard not to start thinking about that game.

Seems to me that ISU could make it interesting this weekend, especially if the griz cannot totally dominate the clock with the run game. If more makes it back that will be huge as will SH at quarterback. Offensively the griz are a running team and their #2 BSC rush game should move at will against the #13 rush defense of ISU. ISU most likely won't even try to run, and thier #1 BSC passing offense could have its way against the griz #13 pass defense. I do look for the griz to come out more balanced with SH and get the win at home though.

As much as I'd like to see ISU at least give them a close game, I don't see it happening. I mean they lost to NCU, the 2nd worst team in the BSC, by 38 points. I don't doubt that ISU will move the ball and score some points against UM's porous pass defense, but with their strong running game and improved passing game with SSH at QB, I think the Griz will really light up the scoreboard. I could envision a final score of something like 52-21. I honestly don't see it being much closer than that, unless UM really shoots themselves in the foot with turnovers and other mistakes.

I think they rollI ISU this weekend, lose a close one in Weber, then take us down to the wire in Missoula... really hope we come out on top - it's very important for a lot of reasons.

um will roll ISU with Don Baily at the helm, If Kramer wasnt suspended I would give them a chance.

um's passing QB has some issues too, slow release and a lot of air under the ball, I wouldn't be surprised to see TM as the QB when Moore returns from injury. Their running game is not the same without the threat of a QB run and Moore

Well, maybe not some others but I don't get too cocky till the dust has settled and we have a win.

Thoughtful, well reasoned, rational. Rare on Bobcat Nation. Good post!
