Adding Utah Valley and CS Bakersfield. This will probably delay Idaho joining the Big Sky with their olympic sports at least for a while.

Utah Valley was looking for a better situation and thought the WAC was it? Wow. Not to mention if this is true and Idaho decides to hold off on the move I say the heck with them and our conference does not need to beg or wait for these potatos to come around.

According to the WAC commish-Idaho is 50-50 about joining the Big Sky for 2013. I think they're still trying to see if they can round up a FBS schedule for the next two seasons.

It looks like there's little doubt that moving to the BSC will be a move "up" if Idaho goes that route.

It's official. Now what's Idaho gonna do?

So what other schools would they be thinking about adding to get up to 12 schools? Are they really going to be scraping bottom by the time all is said and done? Will EMC (Eastern Montana College -- I'm stubborn) be getting a call soon?

I read a thread on WAC message board that actually mentioned MSU-B as a possible move up candidate. Another that keeps coming up is Grand Canyon University. There's also Texas Pan American-that can't seem to get into the Southland, Chicago State-which was kicked out of what is now the Summit League, and the New Jersey Institutue of Technology-who have been D-1 for the last few years. There's not a lot out there.

Wow. Yeah, Idaho would be insane to stay in that conference if the BSC would take them AND let them stay indie for football. Of course, the football will come eventually as well.

I believe he was talking about all sports except football when he said that. I don't think there's any chance that UI would join the BSC for football that soon.

I wouldn’t put too much into the 50/50 comment by Idaho. Idaho needs to stay in the WAC long enough to get part of the exit fees from Fresno and Nevada, and the forfeited conference revenue from San Jose and Utah State.

I’m sure they are telling the WAC and the Big Sky two different things.
