Johnson tabbed as new MSU Nordic ski coach

Long-time juniors coach Matthew Johnson has been named the new head coach of the Montana State Nordic ski team, MSU athletic director Peter Fields announced on Friday. Johnson recently served as head juniors coach with the Alaska Winter Stars in Anchorage this past winter.

Lyche leads MSU Skiers in opening day of Utah Invite

PARK CITY, Utah – Montana State newcomer Benedicte Lyche finished 18th overall in the women’s giant slalom with a two-run total of 2:34.78 to pace the Bobcat skiers in the opening day of the University of Utah Invitational Friday afternoon at Park City Mountain Resort.
Also scoring points for the Bobcats were Kari Hole, 20th, 2:34.95 and Stephanie Irwin, 23rd, 2:36.40.
Colorado’s Brooke Wales won the women’s individual GS title in 2:30.18.
