Kickoff times for ROOT games announced

Bobcat Beat
The football schedule for the Montana State Bobcats is close to being solidified.
On Wednesday, ROOT Sports released kickoff times for both MSU and the Montana Grizzlies, highlighted by the annual Cat-Griz rivalry in Bozeman on Nov. 21. The heated affair will kickoff at 12:05 p.m. in Bobcat Stadium.
Montana State will appear on ROOT five times all told, including the opening game of the regional television slate. On Sept. 19, MSU will travel to Cheney, Washington to take on Eastern Washington, a team that has won four of the last five Big Sky Conference titles. It’s a return game for last season’s similarly non-conference affair played in Bozeman, an endlessly entertaining shootout that ended with Vernon Adams converting a two-point conversion to boost the Eagles to a 52-51 victory. This year’s matchup on “The Inferno” will kick at 1:05 p.m. Pacific time, 2:05 p.m. in Montana.
On Oct. 10, Bobcat Stadium will make its first appearance on ROOT and the second half of the game will likely be played under the lights. The kickoff time for MSU’s matchup with Sacramento State is set for 5:05 p.m.
The following week, MSU will again be on ROOT, this time from Jeld Wen Stadium in Portland. Kickoff against the Vikings is set for 12:35 p.m. Pacific, 1:35 p.m. MST for the host’s lone appearance on ROOT for the season.
The lone MSU game on ROOT that doesn’t have a finalized kickoff time is the Nov. 7 matchup against Southern Utah in Bozeman. Two years ago, SUU came to Bozeman and handed the Bobcats a 22-14 defeat that helped break MSU’s string of three straight league titles.
Other finalized game times for Montana State include: a 7:05 p.m. kickoff on Thursday, Sept. 3 as MSU opens its season against Fort Lewis State; a 1:35 p.m. kickoff for the ‘Cats Homecoming game against visiting Cal Poly on Sept. 26; a 2:35 p.m. kickoff game for MSU’s final non-conference title, a matchup against fledgling East Tennessee State on Oct. 24; a 1 p.m. kickoff time in Grand Forks, North Dakota as MSU takes on UND on Oct. 31, a game that will kick at noon Mountain Standard Time; and a 1:35 p.m. kickoff as MSU makes its first trip to Pocatello, Idaho this decade to take on Idaho State on Nov. 14. All five games will be televised by Cowles Media Montana.
