Basketball tonight vs. Utah Valley State

Post by bozbobcat » Sat Dec 16, 2006 6:37 pm

I know that many of us are sad right now, me included, over the loss of Al Beye. I couldn't think of a better way to remember him and what he did for MSU by attending tonight's basketball game vs. Utah Valley State at 7 pm. The Cats have improved since that awful first meeting and this should be a hard fought contest. The team will be playing with a mission tonight.

They played with a ton of heart. Sad night at Worthington for sure. RIP Al, we'll miss you.

As Huse said in the post game, you could tell the guys that had played with Al were trying their best to put on a show for the Big guy.

Sad night, but it was good to watch the team play. They played very well and hung with a very good team.

The final score was 53-60 in favor of Utah Valley. You could tell the Cats were sad tonight. I heard Nick Dissly played the game in tribute to Al, and I'd say that was a fitting tribute. He scored a career high of 29. I'd also heard that he took it harder than anyone. Nick had an excellent game. Everybody else seemed kind of lost tonight, which is to be expected a bit with recent events. The Cats got down big and fought back to tie it at 36, but their pressure was relentless. Nick had a great game on a sad night.

I also thought that Kris Attebury did a wonderful job on the pre-game show tonight. I couldn't think of a better way to introduce the situation tonight than how he did it.
