They just keep getting worse and worse. I think they get tired after the second game and just can't keep their concentration. Apparently the Big Sky conference will have to get a powerchair as a major sponsor so the refs can use the chairs to get up and down the field.

Yet another HMMMMMMM, that the Tribune picked up:

appeared in the Sunday Tribune. Is grabbing the mask being taught by the UM coaching staff?

Has anybody posted this picture on the Egriz board yet? I am sure there is some reasonable explanation for the no call.

Are you kidding me.

Did you see the 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty called on Tyler Joyce after Jimmie Wilson laid out No. 1 for the Cats.

Joyce looked down at the poor guy, shook his head, and walked away. His actions lasted a total of 1 second. What a pathetic call. I see far more BS on just about every single play in college football.

Yes. Clearly that is more pathetic than an MSU player's head being yanked backwards on a crucial 4th quarter interception.

Please. The Griz got the breaks and they capitalized. The 'Cats still had a chance to win and couldn't. Neither explains away this glaring miss by the incompetent Big Sky refs.

I guess it just depended on what he said!

I know the ball was tipped and the ref was probably watching the ball, but come on he a hold of his facemask for a good 2 seconds probably. Oh well. We lost, we're still alive, and we don't have to see this crew again for the rest of the season! :suds:

Anyone care to comment on the fumble that hit the pylon and was recoved by the Griz. The Cats ONLY SCORE CAME AS A RESULT OF A BLOWN CALL BY THE OFFICIAL.

If the ball is fumbled and hits the pylon - it is a touchback!!

So, explain how the CATS even end up with 7 points.

They ruled he stepped out of bounds at the 4 before he fumbled it. Very close call indeed, and I might lean towards the fumble decision, but get some nice photograph stills and prove the refs wrong!

No doubt the Big Sky refs are pathetic at best (both football and basketball it seems), but there were several calls & nocalls that affected both teams. I can remember at least two blatent interference calls that weren't called against the cats. Both involved Chambers, who was shoved in the back well before the ball got there.

Also, another no call when #5 (I think it was #5) for the cats took his helmet off after a play was over (while still on the field) and was obviously pissed about something. No call at all. I guess the refs didn't see it, or didn't care. Bobby Hauck saw it though and I think he invented a new dance over on the sidelines trying to get the ref's attention

Anyway, bad calls affected both sides, and there were missed calls that affected both sides pretty badly.

If you want to add to that the celebration dive into the end zone by Eric Allen. That was definitely a missed unsportsmanlike penalty call. Either way, I'm no longer in want to complain simply because of the great news about the Cats hosting a game.

Yep, saw that one as well. Bobcat got called for it endzone in the 2003 game I do believe on the INT returned for a TD. I'm going to make up an email and just send it on over to the BSC site and give them a list/explanation on why any of those weren't called. I'm not blaming the loss on the refs, but man .. the refs HAVE to BE ACCOUNTABLE out there for blatant rule violations. Those are EASY calls to make like the diving into the end zone. How can you not see that?

Again though, kudos to the Griz for a great game, but I think the BSC (Fullerton) needs to see some of these from the game. There are high school refs that could make those calls.

Yea I yelled at that when it happened. Hunter gets a personal foul for diving into the endzone in 2003, but its fine if Allen does it. Granted at least there was a Bobcat defender within 10 yards of him, and I normally wouldn't be mad at all, except for that we got flagged for doing the same thing 3 years ago. 8)

At least this shouldn't come as a surprise after the last few years. The BIg Sky refs are really struggling to call a consistent and fair game. There were blatant holds on both teams that were ignored... the refs were more concerned about what the players were saying after the play, then their actions during the play.

Has any one else checked the other boards in the conference to see if they are running into the same problem with the refs? There were plenty of calls on Saturday that were missed on both sides. Last week I watched the UNC Griz game and when UNC player fumbled on the 3 on the opening drive, I could've swore he was down. The funny thing was KPAX would not replay the fumble recovery.....But all in all the referees have been terrible all year and should be held accountable. All of us are accountable in our jobs, why not them and Fullerton?????

I saw that face mask easily from where I was sitting in the stands. The griz ended up with an interception on that play.

Leblanc's helmet (#5) got knocked off. I swear, I've never seen so many helmets fly in a game. The Griz were really bringing it on defense, (As were the Cats)

Not meaning to nitpick, but it was Kenny Qualls, not Kaihiam Hunter.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
