Hink left/leaving the Chronicle

Post by rtb » Mon Oct 16, 2006 1:41 pm

This went un-noticed last week so I thought I would mention it. Andrew Hinkleman left the Chronicle last week to take a job in Alaska. He and Bobcat Nation didn't always see eye to eye, but he was a good part of the team over there!

I believe he left because he didn't want to cover the Ice Dogs now they are Junior B without the Valley Ice Garden.

He likes covering hockey and wants to do that as his specialty.

Not to sound mean or anything, but I am personally glad that he's gone. I have been personally interviewed by him along with some of my friends. He basically messed up all of our quotes and even added some in that none of us said. I don't consider that true journalism and I'm slightly glad that he's gone.

I wouldn't be too hard on him for that.

I hear that's what they teach in J-school now. Or at least, the end product seems to indicate this is what is being taught.
