Signing period starts Wednesday

Tomorrow Wednesday the 12th starts the spring signing period. At this point I really do not think we will be signing anyone for at least a couple weeks. If I had to guess I would say one of the reason Sprinkle has not been officially announced as our new assistant is because as recruiting coordinator for CSN he is trying to get their kids signed before announcing that the guy who recruited them is leaving. Again just a guess.

The Griz are going to sign an off guard/small forward. They have been looking at a jc from Kansas and a JC kid Oregon. The kid from Oregon is Riley Luettgerodt and was on campus last week and really liked Montana, but will not sign if Krysco gets the Pepperdine job. Luettgerodt is or has visited Hawaii this week and will then make his choice, between the two. Riley Luettgerodt also visited Montana State last fall but MSU fell off his radar when Durham resigned. The Griz are also getting a look at Dazzmon Thornton a 6-7 Texas Tech freshman forward who is transferring he averaged 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10 games this past season and has been told his scholarship will not be renewed.

Speaking of losing a scholarship the Griz have a full roster of scholarships right now so if they sign some one they will have to let an existing player go. I had heard that Matt Martin told the staff at the semester break that he would leave after the end of the school year, but has since changed his mind. I have heard recently that if the Griz can sign one of the two JC's they will cut Stuart Mayes.
