Wow. Someone in Burns' office must have really pissed off Jack ... that reads like a royal "FU and have a nice life when you are out of office" piece.

Yeah, Burns is probably screwed ... regardless of whether Jack is telling the truth or not.

It's an interesting bit of politics ... everybody needed to distance themselves from Abramoff as quickly as they could, but they also needed to be diplomatic enough to not piss him off. Burns obviously failed on the second part. Abramoff has no motivation to give quotes like that except out of spite.

I think a couple of Burns staffers are going to ruin him, and the main one is from my home town. (I'll save my opinion of this person for a later date.)
I guess I believe that Conrad didn't have any contact with Abramoff but a couple staffers can't say the same, and even though they no longer work for Burns, Burns gets screwed, because they (the staffers) probably did get Conrad to go Abramoff's way.

Such is politics.

I agree that his people are not doing a great job. I like the part in the article where Burns rep calls Abramoff a pathological liar and insinuates that he has no character and cannot be trusted. Then why did they take money from him in the first place? Hmmm. I have think that when situations escalate to name calling in the media, things are
unraveling.

The deadline for filing is somethime in March but I'm not sure of the exact date.

I might know somebody who knows. I'll ask, but knowing Conrad the way I do I'm guessing he is going to fight it out.

The filing deadline is in two weeks.

It also looks like Roll Call magazine has a list of specific Burns staffers who used there influence in different areas but you need a subscription to read it all.

It sounds like all options are still on the table.
