WBB at Oregon

Post by MSU01 » Sun Dec 14, 2025 1:58 pm

It will be interesting to see how the Bobcats do today! Oregon beat the Griz by 43 last month which is their only Big Sky opponent so far, and they had their first loss a week ago on the road against a very good UCLA team. Go Bobcats, let's shock the world again!

A really tough test today.

I'm listening to the live audio of the game on the MSUBobcats.com website.

It's great to hear that Jamison Philip has taken a couple of charges already in the first quarter. She's such a gritty player with such good attitude.

Chirrick steal and a lay-up to end a 14-0 Oregon run. She's got 2 steals in the first quarter.

Jamison Philip with 8 points in the 4th quarter (which the Bobcats actually won 16-11).

That was a good test for our team. I don't expect they will see a tougher defense in conference play.

Tough game yesterday but the ladies certainly fought hard for the full 40 minutes! Good effort on defense as always but you aren't going to win many games with a 3-point shooting percentage in the single digits. On to the next one, Go Cats!

That will be their downfall in losses this year, if other team can handle the pressure. They are not a great shooting team yet.

Meanwhile, Natalie Picton was 5-7 from long range yesterday. Her scoring ability would have been useful on this team. That said, the Bobcats have a lot of guards, so it would have been hard to find playing time for everyone.

Dylan Philip is reportedly very close to returning and should be ready to go when Big Sky Conference play starts next month, she will definitely provide a much-needed boost to MSU's depth at the guard position. It's awesome that her little sister has been able to get so much experience on the court early on as that will definitely help come February and March when the games start to get really important.
