Both men's and women's teams looked sharp. Both played with a lot of energy and in synch with each other. Belo increased the range of his hook shot and moved very well. Women demonstrated toughness and aggressiveness that was missing at times last year. Hein showed significant improvement in her athleticism. Gonna be an exciting year!

On the men’s side, as noted, Jubrile hit some very nice mid-key jump shots. If he can be consistent with shots outside of just under the basket, watch out. I thought Darian Brown looked very good at PG and Caleb Fuller will help us. Great was dressed but did not play. Same with Robert Ford.

Of our younger players from last year, I think Patrick McMahon has taken the biggest step up. He looked very smooth and confident.

Men

The men had a full practice before the Blue Gold and only played about 20 min. At the end of practice and before the game Sprinkle had then shooting 3-ball at both end of the court and while everyone on the team can shoot the three there were a lot of front iron shot - Usually a sign a player(s) are a little tired, and I think that carried over into the game.
Belo looks like he took his game up another notch. As mentioned, Osobor did not play but he mentioned to a guy sitting near me that he would be ready for Sunday. Even if he is I would not be surprised if Sprinkle holds him out. Ford did not play in the game, but he was very involved in the various drills during practice. Battle looked really good, he may not have made the pre-season All-Conference, but he will be there in March. Of the transfer guys Brown looked really good, both on offence and defense. I really liked Fuller. He is a tough always moving type of play who can score at all three levels. A coach did tell me they want him to finish a little stronger but that should come with time. I agree McMahon looked much improved with aggressiveness and confidence. Jeb Miller surprised me. He is known for his shooting and a coach was high this ability at the game, we saw a glimpse of it at the practice, but what caught my attention was that he played at point for the gold team the entire game. He never came out. He played with poise confidence and was giving instructions. At times Brown was on him. He did not look like a freshman. Now I am not saying he is going to start by any means, I think he will be our third PG on the depth chart, when Ford is healthy, but if we have foul or injury problems, he should be solid (but not as dynamic as Brown or X)

The women played 4 10min quarters. I really came into the game wanting to check out freshmen Marah Dykstra, who I head may be able to contribute major minutes as a true frosh and (red shirt) Lindsey Hein. Dykstra was in street clothes and Hein still does not seem to be 100%. Hein did play some, but she was also riding the stationary bike some. Of the other new folks Grace Beasley could be starting the starting PG on more than half the big sky teams. She is a really nice player. Maddie Olson played a lot at the point guard spot for the scout team. She has the rep of being an outstanding 3-point shooter. I did not see that aspect of her game, as she was running the scout team and dishing. Olson did not play her senior year in high school due to a knee injury. Aside from a knee brace I did not see any evidence of the injury but if not 100% I could see her redshirting. Did not get to see much of Dylan Philip (probably because I was looking elsewhere), but I did notice a couple times that, she has a set of jets on her when she has the ball on the fast break. I thought Mia Hughes looked really good. She is under sized for a Big Sky forward, but she makes up for it in strength and hustle. Overall impression of Binford's team was they are the team they were last year. Only better. They have incredible length and are DEEP. We could 6-6, 6-4 and 6-3 across the front line at times this year and Binford should be able to bring waves of players off the bench with-out a noticeable drop off in talent.

I’m not sure if you’re trying to say the 19-20 team would’ve done well or would have not done well. I’ll chalk it up to autocorrect……… but one thing for sure, the Bobcats have owned the LG for many seasons. The Brick is the house that Binford built. 19-20 team destroyed the LG!

That's weird. I meant 'done' pretty well, not, well whatever. Keys must be sticking or something. Sorry about that. I ought to proofread better. Should have read: ...'still think your 2019-20 team would have done pretty well...'
