How good is PSU?

Post by GoBears » Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:17 am

UNC plays Portland State this Saturday. While it will be good for us to win this weekend (against a future conference opponent), I am just hoping that the game will not be a blowout. Our coach, Kay Dalton stated that they have the best defense that he's seen in a UNC opponent in 10+ years at UNC. Are they really that good? Our offense is pretty good, we've been putting up some big numbers, but our d sucks. If we do win, I think it will be a low scoring game. Are they the best team in the BSC? In your opinion?

It's really too early to tell, Bears, but I honestly doubt they'll be in the top 3 in the Big Sky.

Yes, they did, but PSU just always seems to be one of those teams that can't quite get over the hump. I would be willing to bet that by November 1, they are out of the hunt.

Guide to PSU..

Win in September and part way into October. When the losing starts, watch out below. They virtually guarantee a late season fade every year. :D

All that said: At this time, you will not be able to run the ball. You will have to win the game through the air, and hope and pray for turnovers if your D is not that good.

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.

PSU is very much like Montana this year.....great defense, and pathetic offense. Their QN is completing less than 50% of his passes. Like Montana, they have a good running back.

However, with a defense as good as theirs, they will be no picnic for any Big Sky team to play, you can be sure of that. If you have to play them on the road, it will be even tougher. They'll be the most dangerous team in the conference which nobody knows about, and are capable of beating any team in the conference

Sounds like we are the most dangerous team nobody knows about.
