Lady Cats

Wow, that was painful to watch. So many turn overs, missed shots, bad defense. I guess thats why I hardly watch women's basketball. Just when you think the Lady Cats are putting it all together they stink up the place like that. Goodbye hosting the tournament, goodbye first round bye!

Griz were clearly the fresher team down the stretch. I can't imagine why that might have been... [/sarcasm]

Lady Griz play tough physical defense...Lady Cats didn't have the strength to challenge them until it was too late after giving up the threes. Then they challenged them with twos! They need to take the game to teams when they are ahead....not just when they are behind...that old "playing not to lose" syndrome!

From the way I saw it it looked like neither team deserved to win, at least not during the first thirty-five minutes of the game. Turnovers, bad passes, missed free throws, missed everything else, the Lady Griz weren't doing much different. That Ashley Albert plays one mean game. She'll only improve, along with all the rest of the Bobcats. Hosting and/or First Round byes in the BSC Tournament are still up in the air. You still got a tough team to beat that could still take it all in the end.

The backcourt passing needs to improve. Way too many sloppy passes in the half court set. If we clean that up I think it will help this team a TON.

Yes, the game was a huge disappointment. However, I know the coaches and players would never make excuses, but you can't tell me that having a tough road game against undefeated ISU literally hours prior to having to play a rested UM team did not make a difference. Plus, you have to give UM credit for making those clutch treys. The Griz deserved the win.

Nevertheless, I really think the women's team is headed in the right direction. Can't say the same for the men's program.

Definitely no shame in losing to the Griz who came in with one of the better defenses and coming in with some hot shooting. It seems like the Cats have really struggled at the PG position since Erica Perry graduated (at least on the offensive end of things). Both Ausha Cole and Latisha Adams are getting better there and are tremendous at the defensive end of things.

I haven't seen the whole team play aggressive throughout a game yet. Usually it is Semansky and Bussey that bring that consistent energy. Elliot and Durham bring a lot of energy off of the bench.

This conference is so balanced it doesn't take much to lose a game. I really hope the Lady Cats can earn a top seed because I don't know if they put together 2-3 great games back to back.
