Thanks for the link, Victor! Great article.

I understand Joey was in Bozeman last week for some sort of event for kids in Bozeman. Did anyone see him or hear him on the Sports Nut? Glad that Joey is doing things right and continues to give back to Bozeman.

Heard him on the Sports Nuts last week. He said that Bozeman is a lot colder than Green Bay

He also stated how much he did enjoy playing for MSU and how he likes to come back and give something back to the community that gave a lot to him. Really good interview in my opinion.

GO CATS!!

VictorG, you must be torn. A Bobcat doing well for the Packers. What are you going to do?

VictorG,
Its nice to know that you can recognize success, even if they don't wear maroon. I can't believe that Carroll interviewed the way he did. "Balling" give me a break!

Hey, once they're out of school I'm for most everyone!

I'd much rather see a Bobcat doing well for the Packers than an ex-Packer doing anything for a Viking though! I'm betting those Packer cast offs the Vikes picked up this year won't even finish the season! :D

I drove through Bozeman twice this week. I waved at all of you but no one waved back! And I thought you where a friendly town! :D

Great article indeed. I'm very happy for Joey that things are seemingly going so well for him - I always thought they would.

The clinic that he put on was a FREE clinic for kids, and I understand that all the kids got free t-shirts and some other stuff in addition. That's pretty cool that Joey does something like that!

Great guy- great athlete! Big Sky refs were always flagging him for interference, but it was just because he was so good at the position.

I think he'll do damn well in the NFL.

That he is!

I'm just glad he's gone!!!

I wish him all the best, and hope he continues to promote football in Montana.

Silly Packer fans. Oh, oh, Ahman Green just fumbled AGAIN!

That's true, but his next carry went 60 yards for a TD!

I think it is great how Joey is giving back to the community. If I was younger I would have loved to go see him, get his autograph. I'm glad he still cares about MSU and the community, even though he didn't start his career here.

On a more selfish note, I hope he wins a starting job, makes a pro bowl or two, gets a big fat contract and donates to a new stadium. :D

THANKS! - Jeff - please cover this story! pictures, etc.!!!

I agree - HUGE kudos to Joey for coming back to Bozeman and giving to kids. He has been so well spoken in the media and really a good representative of our school. I was one of those people who wanted his butt sat down a time or two when he was being mouthy/getting unsportsmanlike penalties - but I do understand that attitude is important to being a good professional athlete, especially a corner. The most important thing is the off-field behavior and I love what I'm seeing from him as a Packer. I can't wait to see him on Sundays - and hear "Joey Thomas, Montana STATE!!!!"

Thanks, Joey - come back anytime!

A quick note on Joey:

He came home and had a camp on Saturday up at the High School. Nate Burleson of the Vikings was also going to come up, but ended up not coming. Burleson and Thomas are friends from high school. Junior ended up helping out at the camp as well as Wade White who is Joey's agent.

Joey is a good guy and he showed real class this weekend, even if he does play for the wrong team now.

Joey did recently beat Ahmad Carroll out for the starting job this year so he will be starting opposite of Al Harris. He was pretty happy about that and he worked hard to do that. I also told him that he needs to say "Joey Thomas, THE Montana State University" when he does starting lineups for Monday and Sunday night football.

That's great Joey came back to town!!

On THE Montana State University. This came from Ohio State where the actual name of the University is "The Ohio State University" So when grads from there say it, it's actually valid. When others say it with their university name, they just don't really understand??

Personnally, my favorite is when someone says 'Name Name, XXX XXX High school". Love those annoucements.

My son attended this camp. They did an awesome job with the kids and talked alot about academics, perseverance, work ethic - keys to being successful in life, not just football. Kane, Mac, Junior, Ryan Force - Coach Dumas and quite a few other MSU people were there. It was a really great experience for the kids and Joey earned a ton of points in my book. The others did most of the coaching, etc., but Joey made it happen and i'm proud of him for stepping up so quickly in his career. He made a fan out of me. I hope he becomes a pro-bowler, and I think he can.

THANK YOU, JOEY!!!!

I'll try and post some pictures soon.
