The A&M Transfer is Andy Matakis. He's 6'3 255, and it sounds like he's VERY strong, I think that he set some weight lifting records at A&M. I think we are planning on him filling the HUGE gap left by Bobcat great Jon Montoya.
I've also heard talk about a 6'4 295 transfer OT by the name of Blake Garrison. It looks like he's a transfer from the University of Houston and that he'll be a sophomore. It sounds like he'll challege for the starting left tackle spot with Daws, Beniger, Brewton, and possibly Jensen.
Also, has anyone else heard how Goodman is doing? Will he be ready to go for Fall???

Here's what I found on Andy Matakis on the Insiders - pretty impressive, can't wait to see him play. Is it final that he's transferring to THE MSU??

Here are some random clippings I found about Matakis.
A couple of other highly-sought recruits were also on campus Tuesday. Andy Matakis, LB, 6-3, 220, Corpus Christi (Tex.) Flour Bluff, received the full, red-carpet treatment. Matakis is a good-looking kid, with a good build that looks like he could gain even more weight. Reportedly, he was very impressed with UCLA, and the word is that his main three schools are UCLA, Texas A&M and Illinois. UCLA was the first to offer him and look to have a really good shot at getting him.

Texas A&M:
Texas A&M’s Andy Matakis, who was converted from linebacker to tight end last spring, has decided to leave the Texas A&M football team.
Matakis will transfer to a school that will let him play defense, reported the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
“ I’ve been a defensive player my whole life,” Matakis told the paper. “I came up [to College Station] and they moved me to tight end. I did it, because I saw it as a chance to get on the field a lot faster, but I’m more of a defensive player.”
Matakis, who graduated from Flour Bluff High School, a Class 4A school near Corpus Christi, had four receptions for 40 yards and two touchdowns last season after redshirting as a freshman in 2002.
He was recruited by former A&M coach R.C. Slocum as a tight end, but moved to offense under first-year coach Dennis Franchione.
Matakis will be the 12th underclassman from last year’s team to leave the program.
The others are: quarterback Dustin Long, running back Derek Farmer, linebackers Ta Ta Thompson, Kelvin Flood and Lamar Mitchell, wide receiver Anthony Wright, offensive linemen Brandon Flanagan, Quentin Holman and Kasey Cheshier and defensive linemen Brian Patrick and Tate Pittman.

Sounds like a STUDFreshman linebacker Andy Matakis broke the A&M record in the squat with a personal best lift of 580 pounds surpassing the record set in 1989 by Jeroy Robinson of 575 pounds.

According to the spring roster we posted here, #96 is listed as:
Sky Johnson, DL 6-0 210 So HS Yakima, WA
(Aaron Papich was listed as #99)
Not sure if that is correct though as I don't know if you would mistake 210 for 255 to 260.
