Basketball info update

Post by mslacat » Thu Dec 16, 2004 2:38 pm

A little info on basketball
1 It looks like Beye and Towsley will be available for for next tuesday's game the game on the 21st. Beye is practicing right now.
2. Some people worry that Martrel might be gone after January, part of this is the fall out of Brown situation. The worry is not basketball related, personally.
3. We seem to be looking at mostly JC's for recruiting with the wish to sign possibly two big men, a combo wing/gaurd and a true point guard.

w/o Beye or Towsley, the starting lineup for the UWGB game was

Miller PG
Jefferson SG
Dissly SF
Moss PF
Woodall C

Miller and Jefferson are seem to be getting more comfortable with their new roles and are playing fairly well.

backups: Durham gets significant time at PG or SG depending on whether Miller is in at the same time. Pratt plays C when he's in there. Durr gets minutes at PF backing up Moss or when Moss moves inside. Bottom line is, we need either Beye or Towsley in there!

I believe against Green Bay, Moss started at center and Woodall at PF. Durr came in for Woodall early in the game and that was the rotation until about 10 minutes left in the game when the Cats went real small. Durham, Miller, Dissly, Moss and Jefferson at the PF. I think scoring was the objective but the lineup could not defend.....thus the five point loss.
