Good response and ownership Vim. I appreciate your dedication and insight to the Cats. Wasn’t trying to call you out specifically. I also liked seeing that fire and accountability from couch V today. That has been missing in previous years.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 7:25 pmNever said I wanted him cut. Said many times we need him. Was afraid that he may BE cut if accountability wasn't had. He's one of my favorite Bobcat RBs of all time and I actually think we have a chance to win last year's title with him in the backfield. He's battles through miles of adversity in his college career. He knows he needs to set a better example to his team as a leader in that moment. His post reflects that leadership and that's why I'm glad he's on our team and in our backfield. Emotions get the best of us and even I was too fired up after the game. But like Julius said, we hold each other accountable at MSU and I didn't need to be that upset with his actions until further information came out. It's never a positive thing to push a coach or teammate but all teams are built different and this one is very close both player and coach. We'll be better for what happened today both during and after the game.

Re: Julius Davis
Yeah, those people watched the game on TV ... where you could see if tightly framed for a really long time. I feel a lot better seeing his tweet, but it was still a very, very, very bad look for the program in real time. And, unfortunately, very few of the people who saw it on TV will be following up on tweets to get more information.
Will this cost us some recruits in the future? Maybe. It was really ugly.
I went in to work after the game and one of our managers immediately mentioned how our RB had a meltdown after the game ... that was his first takeaway.
So was it the end of the world? Nope. Was it a horrible look for the team? Yes.

Let's be real here, aside from MSU and Yale fans nobody saw that. The SEC Championship game happening at the same time likely drew slightly better ratings.SonomaCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:10 pmYeah, those people watched the game on TV ... where you could see if tightly framed for a really long time. Sounds like a taste of y’all’s own medicinenanacat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 6:34 pmNot defending Davis's actions at all but I was highly unimpressed with several of the Yale players, especially #7. He was trying to fight people the whole game. I really wish the refs would have done something about that. The fact that the head coach wouldn't be interviewed is so tacky. I mean come on. They outplayed and outcoached the Cats today it seemed, and yet we still won. There was some SERIOUS emotion during the game and alot for the coaches to address this week in practice from that, to some sloppiness, etc. I think we'll see a very different team next week.

I hope that you weren’t one of the cat fans that were up in arms about Fife and Hauck last year.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 7:29 pmI finally watched the video. I’d be shocked if he misses one snap. This is absolutely no big deal.

Get a grip on your purse, Sally. No recruit is going to make a decision because of this.

Maybe not. But maybe. If you were deciding between MSU and someplace else and you saw that after the game today ... would that not influence who you trust with your kid? Especially people with no connection to the state or school?BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:32 pmCost us recruits?!SonomaCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:10 pmYeah, those people watched the game on TV ... where you could see if tightly framed for a really long time. It's a general rule of thumb that anything negative can hurt recruiting. This was negative.
And my name's not Sally. Stay away from my purse.

This will not cost us recruits. Julius took more accountability for this than Hauck did for his public explosion on an athlete last year and that didn’t seem to hurt them at all, and that was a coach acting like a child…SonomaCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:10 pmYeah, those people watched the game on TV ... where you could see if tightly framed for a really long time. Julius apologized and will have to live with this, he can make up for it but the facts are, this did not tarnish our schools reputation, it’s not like we have multiple athletes on trial for SIWOC, and he’s gone after this year.
In the here and now I agree with you, not a good look, but going forward maybe the team shows how issues like this are appropriately handled. Not you or anyone on here specifically, but I love how so many people are so quick to judge, like they live a perfect life, it’s pathetic to read people punching down on him on the ESPN post and than read #chritian, #godfirst ect. on their social handle. We are a society that loves to validate ourselves by watching others fail.

Some cat fans criticized a short altercation between Fife and Hauck. Fife just yelled at Hauck for a few seconds but they made up later in the game.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:40 pmI don’t even know what you’re talking about. I had some 2027 recruits that were on the field for the game today come to my tailgate after the game bc one of their parents happened to be at mine. That interaction won’t influence any of their choices. To think otherwise is foolish.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:32 pmCost us recruits?!SonomaCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:10 pmYeah, those people watched the game on TV ... where you could see if tightly framed for a really long time. Re: Julius Davis
I know that was not directed at me but ... I hate watching Bobcats fail. I wish it hadn't happened and further wish that ESPN hadn't caught it and lingered on it. I swear they extended their coverage just to film it all.
I'm just pointing out the public perception of this in response to people saying that it's not a big deal. It is a big deal ... but hopefully it will fade over time. But it definitely will have some negative long term impacts for MSU and for him. But hopefully a little as possible.
Definitely not saying he's a bad guy -- I don't know him. But it was definitely an unfortunate venue and time for a world-class meltdown.

I don't know those recruits. But I trust that they already know enough about MSU that this won't influence them.
But we don't know about the other potential 1,000 recruits who may not already have a relationship with MSU.
Social media sucks when it comes to stuff like this.
But like I said ... hopefully it fades away.

Way over thinking this. Even if coach V cuts him tomorrow… I’d respect his decision while standing by everything I said tonight. Nothing burger. He should just be thankful he didn’t have to hold hands all the back to the locker room with Choate. If you know, you know….SonomaCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:50 pmI don't know those recruits. Yea, unlike the actual grizzly, the fans are more like opportunistic bottom feeders.
