Not sure why everyone's getting so angry here. Whether you love Trump or hate him it's undeniable that the stuff Wood was saying is straight out of the Trump playbook of belittling one's enemies with zero regard for the professionalism or decorum generally accepted to be part of their respective positions.
It’s because the Trumpers are sensitive. They think university presidents should be held to a higher standard than their guy.

Reasons to cheer for the gris:
Having them be ranked as high as possible when we play would be the best for our last impression on the playoff committee.

Seeing sac completely fail after everything that clown car of a program has pulled the last year and a half has brought me great schadenfreude. Seeing that continue would be very funny.

Reasons to cheer for sac:
FTG

I'm not really sure what to do here....
It’s easy — which will you celebrate more, a gris loss or a Sac State win?

Could we just keep the political comments off the board? It literally never goes well and some of us just want one place where we can talk sports and keep it at that. Go to the general discussion if you want, but let’s keep the football board about football. Thanks.

The Panda Bowl....I kind of like it.

Griz only giving 3.5 in the spread from sports bet MT.

What is political about saying that the president of a publicly funded university, which is not an elected position, should have some decorum? Nothing about what I said is political....

I like it. He's definitely generating some interest in what otherwise would be an interesting game.

Ya, I am in the camp where this didn't seem like a crazy huge deal here. Yes, immature for someone in his position to make those comments, but he's obviously trying to draw as much attention to this game as possible. You know what they say about any publicity is good publicity...

One other comment about this whole thing, I do agree Bobby is good at getting his players to play up and play harder and better in certain situations. Of course that begs the question... why doesn't he just have them play like that all the time? Thank God we have Vigen.

I will be taking the Griz minus the 3.5 as part of a tidy little parlay. I think they cover that and some.

My worthless take on a school President making statements like that:

(1) He holds a high-level (highest perhaps?) position representing what is considered a major educational facility and hundreds of thousands of people. He should be mature enough to realize this and be a professional. Represent with class. Credibility was not bolstered with his interview.

(2) He's what? 5'7", 140 pounds? Ever strap it on? If I'm Marion, I'm pissed and I'm letting Wood know it. The guy has no vested interest in the game, doesn't have to strap it on, and can hide all game long. And after the game. Mr. Mouth. Talk on the field, which he can't do and never did. I don't know the value of bulletin board material, but it isn't zero. And If there is one dude in this conference that can additionally motivate a team off that, it's BH.

(3) Simple question: how would you feel if he were our new President and said this about the Gris or any other team? Makes me even more proud to be a Cat.

(4) Finally....IF you are going to flame in the press...ensure that it brings blood. Panda Bears? Second-grade stuff.

Sad part is that I can't decide who to root for as I watch this game. Ouch.

At least I will get to witness Robin Hauck breaking the single-game unassisted tackle record. Again.

On the one hand, he said the gris were the Pandas and the FCS is the JV league. Childish BS from a school president.

On the other hand, he said the gris were the Pandas and that’s hilarious, Bobby is a clown too, and I’ve been brought up to believe in FTG.

But on the other hand, should we finally let the dUMb tennis team off the hook for giving us 'gris' now that we have Pandas? And on another hand, doesn't this rivalry have room for both names?

A specific Gris fan might argue that is the European spelling of the word.

I was travelling this week and had an MSU hat on. The flight attendant saw my hat and mentioned her son played at Weber. She attended a Weber game at Wash Griz and mentioned the FTC chant was ringing out loud. Said Cat Gris was the following weekend and it was remarkable that the rivalry was that intense. She said Ohio State vs Michigan has nothing on us.

The rivalry is special. Plenty of for Pandas and Gris!

Wait, what!? The gris fans chant "FTC" when they aren't even playing the Cats? WTH, that's just wrong. Think about the children in the stands that have to hear that. The Cats are so living in their heads rent free. Talk about little brother mentality. Obviously, they are jealous of the Cats success.

There, did I get that right?

If this game only has a 3.5 point spread Missoula is in real trouble for the rest of the season
