Any opinions on linebacker situation once Daly comes back possibly this week? Starters? Rotation? Not sure it's advantageous to rotate 5 linebackers in Grebe, Taylor, Daly, Krahe, and Ahrens. Depth is always good going into the playoffs but I guess we will see.
Is Taylor fast enough to play Nickle? Put Daily and Grebe at LB? mostly a joke but the depth that’s been built this first half of the season will pay off in December.
Gray is a very good nickle. Last year we rarely too starting LB off the field. I love the rotation this year and this will add 1 more but likely Ahrens or Krahe lose reps.
I wasn’t questioning Grays ability. More of who sits to keep Taylor on the field line if thinking. Depth is great!!
Like the above poster said, probably Ahrens and Krahe see less reps, and I’d guess that Grebe and Daily split their reps so that Taylor can play more. I’ve never seen a Bobcat team have this much depth at this many positions on defense. It’s crazy.
Would agree. Think as we get Daly back, Krahe and Ahrens will be seeing less time, and the reps will be split between Grebe, Taylor, and Daly. I think a 3-linebacker rotation is plenty. With Krahe and Ahrens seeing reps in less close games, which I'm thinking will be a good number of games. Lots of depth this year. Also worth noting that that full linebacker room could all be back next year. With Daly having another year possible next yr if he decides, Taylor and Grebe with two more after this year.

All three Daly’s have used up their eligibility.

Neil has one more year next year if he chooses to use it. Red shirt as a freshman and then a medical red shirt I believe in 2023.

Yes, Neil Daily. Not related to the Daly's.

I'm not doing it to be a big meany. I just think people want to spell another person's name correctly. So, I'm not scolding, just trying to be helpful. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Perhaps I should use a disclaimer?

Plus it's on the back of the jersey now. Should be easier to get it right!

Should be if you want to take time to look it up, fix spell check, or whatever. It's a message board. Tom should get it right in his articles and even he has typos at times. us hacks are just having fun. And that kid hasn't played at home yet this year so I guess the jersey hasn't helped.

I'm always glad that someone is kind enough to point out my errors. Embarrassed, but glad. :)

Let’s get this back on topic on where Kneel fits back into the LB rotation!

Daily looked great despite wearing a large wrap on arm/shoulder. He had the biggest hit of the day in the 3rd quarter smoking the ISU RB for a loss.

Was there any known reason as to why Julius Davis didn’t play at all in the second half?

I was wondering the same thing. He looked okay on the sideline.

Guessing they would have been very careful with even a minor tweak given the score of the game. With a bye week coming up I'm sure he'll be back hurdling guys in two weeks' time!
