Re: Cancelled Pre Sale and General Sale
I started with two season tickets and I currently have ten. I requested the maximum eight playoff tickets. I'm either selling the additional eight to friends at face value or giving them to people who can't normally attend the games. They all have to be Cat fans though. Every year, I give away tickets to Cat fans that can't normally afford to go to the games. Heck, I tried to basically give away two playoff tickets here on BN to the Yale game and had no takers. I know I have never tried to profit from any of my tickets.
It is time to expand, but we all know that's easier said than done. I'm sure MSU would have expanded years ago if the "big gift" was there or if they were willing to go into massive debt. Leon has done wonders for Bobcat athletics and I have no doubt the expansion is on the horizon somewhere. Even when the expansion happens, it won't satisfy everyone. Cost will still be too high for some and others will be left out.

Certainly wouldve at least gotten it out to a wider array of fans.kcatz wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 8:33 pmHere's some perspective.
If there's roughly 16,000 season tickets and let's be gracious and say we will get to 21,000 for attendance Saturday.
That leaves roughly 4500 tickets available (took out 500 for the pandas to distribute).
At maximum of 8 per season ticket holder that's only about 560 season ticket holders who got extra tickets.
That's probably 1/3 of the season ticket holders (based on thr last time I paid attention to priority point numbers).
Limiting tickets to 4 per account wasn't going to get any more tickets to Tuesday's presale.
Getting any at all should be considered a blessing though. In other playoff contexts I know from experience as a season ticket holder, the only "thank you" you get is a 50% bump in prices on your existing seats as a playoff premium.

I put in for my eight. No idea if I'll get any, but if I have extra they won't be on SeatGeek I can tell you that.
I'm in the QB Club, Sixth Man Club, Fastbreak Club, had season tickets for 10 years and donate a little extra here and there (to the indoor practice facility, for example). How do I know how many priority points I have and where I rank????

If you’ve had season tickets for 30 years, the priority point system will be kind to you. You get points not just for dollars donated but for how many years you’ve been a STH and/or a donor.catatac wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 6:58 pmI still don't think we're going to see a bunch of Bobcat season ticket holders selling out and selling these to Griz fans but I guess we'll see. I do agree however, with 8 being too many. If I strike out on getting ANY extra tickets, after applying for them immediately when the first communication went out, after how much I've invested MSU as a season ticket holder over the past 30 years... then yes I'll be kinda bummed. That would make me think they should do it differently, maybe allow every season ticket holder to at least get one extra ticket if they want, and then distribute all the rest of them via priority points.GoodTimesAllTheTime wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 6:45 pmI hope I’m wrong, but I think 8 extra per season ticket holder was too many. I think we will see more Griz fans as a result. It’s too tempting not to sell at least a couple of those if you’ve so many.

Speaking of season tickets. I cannot find any information on the MSU website about them right now. I’m looking at trying to get them next year. For those who are season ticket holders, how much are they for a season? Can you just buy 2 seats or does it need to be 4+? Thanks

Would it have killed them to save say 500 tickets to go to the next priority list? Selling the entire stadium (sans allotted tickets) to season ticket holders feels pretty icky to me.

If everyone without season tickets would add their name to the season tickets wait list, that would help support future expansion by demonstrating demand.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

For $1200 a season you can get five season tickets. Which then automatically gets you those tickets for playoff games if you want them. That’s a huge huge perk.CelticCat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 8:45 pmWould it have killed them to save say 500 tickets to go to the next priority list? I know what you’re saying. And it is a problem. It’s the same story every August when Mercyhurst sells out before non season ticket holders have a chance.
We all wanted the BAC and the IPF and now a bigger stadium. I’m fine with rewarding the folks who make those things happen.

I agree! On a related note\question.. does anyone know if it's an all or none thing on the allocations? Meaning, if there is someone one point ahead of me on the priority list and they requested 8 tickets and I requested 8 tickets and I am below the cut line, do they get all eight and I get none? I assume that's probably the way it works but just checking to see if anyone knows.InMcGheeWeTrust wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 8:41 pmIf you’ve had season tickets for 30 years, the priority point system will be kind to you. I would think it almost has to work exactly like that. Otherwise it's not a priority list.catatac wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:00 pmI agree! Re: Cancelled Pre Sale and General Sale
You can purchase two season tickets. I started off with two. Cost depends on where your season tickets are located, the end zone being the cheapest. If I were you, I'd find a friend that's a current season ticket holder and have them purchase you two season tickets on their plan. It will be next to impossible for you to get season tickets on your own right now.LoggerCat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 8:44 pmSpeaking of season tickets. Yeah, I've been to every home and playoff game for the last 3 years and we may get scalped out of this one somehow. Sad thought.bobcatfan123 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 8:20 pmI’ve got my tickets…Allowing up to 8 extra tickets per season ticket holder feels excessive. Slight clarification on your post: If you are already a season ticket holder, for $1200 a season you may be able to get five additional season tickets. If not you better make friends with someone who is.CodyCat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 8:57 pmFor $1200 a season you can get five season tickets. Up until a few years ago we had 5 tickets. When my sister wanted to start coming and bringing her whole family we took two tickets from a couple that were ready to let them go and then had to request 3 additional tickets. We got 2 together in another section and a single ticket about 5 rows up and a dozen seats over from our main group. We're just lowly peasants so we had to wait for almost everyone else to get their extras before we got a chance but even for people higher on the list I don't think the selection is great if you want to scale up.

But allowing just a few tickets to be sold to other Cat fans from the box office isn't a stupid notion.
And frankly? Telling someone they're stupid for simply wanting to get into the game and support the Cats without having to beg off friends or family or go to SeatGeek where the tickets are marked up 1,000% is a stupid statement...

Pretty sure the stupid comment was in reference to the last sentence, not the first two. It's a little harsh but not wrong. The high priority ticket holders are either local businesses or long time (multi-decade) diehard alumni. They aren't outsiders who have a 2nd/3rd/4th home nearby.GeoCAT wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:14 pmSeason ticket holders get priority, and they help the big wheel turn at MSU athletics.
