Tristen Kuhn appears to be the one that jumped the gun. It’ll be interesting to hear his explanation.

Raiders are making a bunch of moves, and have 2 guys listed on their 53 that are headed to IR/injury settlements. My bet is they'll move 2 bodies from the PS to the 53 and officially add Tommy to the PS.
Is that likely since he didn't make the initial PS list?
They're likely just shuffling guys around

So it seems like Tommy is a free agent now and can sign with any team he wants, assuming anyone wants him, right? Kind of like being an UDFA after the draft. He's no longer "stuck" on the Raiders.

True, but the Raiders “analysis” carries weight. If he can’t make their practice squad as a sixth round pick…. And he’s trying to change positions. I hope I’m wrong but it seems like a tough sell.

Yeah, but if they knew they didn't want him, why wouldn't they have waived him in the initial cuts they made on August 25th? I think they cut/waived 4 wide receivers. :-k

Hoping Tommy can get signed somewhere very soon. What a goat rope with the raiders, their cut process and signing to the PS was incredibly chaotic. Kind of glad he’s not stuck with the Pete Carrol nepotism that has certainly affected a few personnel decisions thus far.

Says he "reached out" to him first. Leads segment about practice squad with Mellott. 11:30 in
He actually said he’s leading off with Tommy because that’s the first name that the person he reached out to told him. Never said he talked to Tommy himself.

Not sure what the situation with the Raiders is, but Cincinnati still has 2 positions open on their practice squad. I know they had interest in Mellott coming into the draft as well, but tbh I'm just spit balling. Never know, what's going on behind the scenes.

Just read he's working out with a couple other teams today. No idea if that's true though. Also heard the CFL may still be a thing. Time will tell I guess.

From what I understand (I'm no insider)he's still with the team, and once the Raiders put Aidan O'Connell on IR, Cam Miller will move to the active roster and Tommy will likely take the final PS spot. He wasn't claimed by any other team which makes me think he'll be on the Raiders' PS.

The Raiders haven’t won a playoff game since 2002. So there’s that.
...and if they do Tommy dirty, I hope they never win another game. Garbage organization.

Honestly, I was happy he got drafted, but sad it was with the Raiders. Never been a fan. Was actually hoping once he got cut he'd be picked up by another team.

It was a Raiders group on Facebook, a couple people commented that. No idea if it's true.

Well hopefully the rumors of him working out for other teams are accurate because the GM seems to have shut the door on signing him to the practice squad (regardless of how many times he said "right now").

I’m more annoyed now about the situation after watching that video.

I totally understand not making the 53. That was somewhat expected. But to not be a part of the practice squad is a head scratcher.

None of us know how practice went, but in games he didn’t get much of a shot. When he did get was either good or neutral, didn’t really do much to hurt his chances.

They spent a draft pick on him knowing full well he’s a project, the GM acknowledges that a few times. But then he gets an OTA and a few weeks of training camp that’s it?

I figured he was a lock for one year on the PS at minimum to see if he can make progress on the transition to WR, at that point they can make the call on if he is going to have what it takes or not. I just have a hard time believing that one OTA and fall camp, with seemingly limited reps, is enough to tell them to move on.

Hope he gets a shot with someone else.

As a Bobcat AND Raiders fan, this is a tough pill to swallow. Just from connecting the dots of what I've heard and read, i figured he was, at the very least, a lock to make the practice squad. I suppose it's encouraging Spytek spoke in a way that didn't completely negate bringing him back. Whatever happens, Tommy is still one of the best Bobcats of all time, and I'm so very grateful I got see him play in person.
