Re: Offseason Random Stuff - 2023
Interesting that the guy behind Lance on the depth chart is Braxton Burmeister, who played QB at Oregon, Virginia Tech and San Diego State. Part of me would love to see a college QB make a roster as a WR, but since that would be detrimental to Lance's prospects of making the final 53, I hope it happens somewhere else.AFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 3:47 pmHardy and McCutcheon in the mix again.

The Rams' depth chart is listed as though they're in a 3-4 base defense, in which the pass rushers are technically OLB's.Common Cat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 5:36 pmWhen did Hardy move to outside linebacker?coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 4:22 pmIt's early but promising.AFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 3:47 pmHardy and McCutcheon in the mix again.

The NFL runs sub so much that it really doesn't matter about your "base" designation. 34OLB's and 43DE's are edge rushers.

The CAA is getting out of hand. Trying to be an FCS super conference.

The CAA knows they still only get one auto-bid, right?BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 8:28 amThe CAA is getting out of hand. Trying to be an FCS super conference.

W&M being above NDSU in these power rankings made me chuckle.

Can someone explain to me what the CAA did either last year in the regular season or during the playoffs to deserve any hype this offseason?BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 12:09 pmW&M being above NDSU in these power rankings made me chuckle.

A conference like the MVFC where they only miss 1 opponent
each year isn't going to get 5 bids too often anymore. More often than not, there are going to be 5 or 6 CAA and BSC teams at 7-4 or better now, taking an at-large spot from others because they might have missed a couple difficult teams in conference play, and the conference is seen as being strong.

W&M being above anyone higher than the gris makes me chuckle. I may be wrong, but after watching them last year, I think ranking them higher than 15 is a joke.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 12:09 pmW&M being above NDSU in these power rankings made me chuckle.

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

I disagree. There are quite a few top 15 teams they would beat in my opinion. They run the ball extremely well, and can run the +1 run game. Darius Wilson isn't a bad passer, he just had no idea how to throw in the cold last December.catscat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 5:40 pmW&M being above anyone higher than the gris makes me chuckle. William and Mary has one of the most forgiving conference schedules of all time. Hero sports has the CAA predicted as follows. Of the top 7 teams, W&M only plays two of them:BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 2:18 pmcoloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 1:15 pmThey located their conference on the east coast.CatAttack22 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 1:10 pmCan someone explain to me what the CAA did either last year in the regular season or during the playoffs to deserve any hype this offseason?BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 12:09 pmW&M being above NDSU in these power rankings made me chuckle.
https://www.cbssports.com/college-footb ... -rankings/This. The odd thing is nobody watches their games because they are the only major FCS conference not on ESPN+. The thing helping them, and quite honestly it's been helping the BSC too, is the unbalanced schedule.

1. William & Mary
2. New Hampshire - Don’t play this year
3. Elon
4. Richmond
5. Delaware - Don’t play this year
6. Villanova - Don’t play this year
7. Rhode Island - Don’t play this year

Correct. That's why I have them at 10-1.Cataholic wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 7:07 pmWilliam and Mary has one of the most forgiving conference schedules of all time. Hardy and McCutcheon both playing a bunch tonight. Hardy is playing a straight up edge rusher and not LB. Just had a huge sack.Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 6:06 pmThe Rams' depth chart is listed as though they're in a 3-4 base defense, in which the pass rushers are technically OLB's.Common Cat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 5:36 pmWhen did Hardy move to outside linebacker?coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 4:22 pmIt's early but promising.AFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 3:47 pmHardy and McCutcheon in the mix again.

And now it's Lewis Kidd playing as a LT. Doing great as far as I can see.
Man you can't even help but to see Cats playing on TV these days. They're everywhere.

Dotson from SAC/UNC broke off a long TD run for Chargers.
Could be a lot of BSC players on opening rosters and practice squads this season.

Is Kassis playing somewhere? I didn't know that he was. Don't forget O'Reilly in the XFL soon and maybe Travis Jonsen too. Willie P. in Europe and he has been doing great there.
