Have to think he is on the practice squad IF he clears waivers.

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
Dammit.
Well I hope Tommy can stick around and be close to the NFL somehow. He deserves that chance.

The Raiders cut Cam Miller as well. Poor roster management not to get your six rounders onto the team IMO

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
As a not-bronco fan, I have to suffer through a cold November Thursday Night Football game.

As someone who lives in CO and is a Bears fan I hope he a) stays in the AFC West, b) goes to the Bears or c) goes to the Lions/Vikings as the NFC North is on tv sometimes here and those teams are good and the division is often on tv in Montana.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
Bummer, but I think the worst case scenario here is Tommy makes a Practice Squad and has the chance to continue to develop his skills. Look at Alex Singleton and Ty Okada, it's not always an easy path to get there but it can happen.

I had a feeling that would probably be the case. Hopefully he catches on with a practice squad.

Using that logic for TV I need Seattle to pick him up,lolcoloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 4:56 pmAs someone who lives in CO and is a Bears fan I hope he a) stays in the AFC West, b) goes to the Bears or c) goes to the Lions/Vikings as the NFC North is on tv sometimes here and those teams are good and the division is often on tv in Montana.

This is what I was thinking. Especially when you pretty much give Tommy 0 chance to show what he can do in the preseason?GoodTimesAllTheTime wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 4:39 pmThe Raiders cut Cam Miller as well. Poor roster management not to get your six rounders onto the team IMO

Yea, didn’t like Raiders before, really don’t like them now.technoCat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 5:10 pmThis is what I was thinking. Re: Tommy to the Raiders
My thoughts too! They hardly played him in the preseason so how can he find any rhythm? Hopefully another team can manage his talent better and give him a chance. He certainly needs time to develop, so practice squad does make sense.technoCat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 5:10 pmThis is what I was thinking. Question though... what is the difference between being waived and being cut? Aren't they essentially the same thing? Excuse my NFL ignorance

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
Helps when you have a QB that can throw you the ball too.
Tommy deserves to be in a way better system.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
He likely wasn’t doing enough in practice to warrant more playing time. It was always more likely he’d make the practice squad, he’s a developmental player. This isn’t uncommon.

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
I believe if you are a player with four or less years in the league that is waved AND another team picks you up within (24 hours ? Think it used to be longer) they honor/assume your original contract. If you are a veteran of over four years and cut, you are free to immediately negotiate a new contract with other teams or something like that.nanacat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 5:23 pmMy thoughts too!
