Yep, that would be a pretty stupid nickname for a stadium.thuss wrote:Or it would be equivalent to naming your stadium "The Wash".
Incidentally, do you know anyone who actually calls their stadium "The Wash?"

Ugh...NO, but I DO know a team that calls their basketball arena "The Brick," which is what I was making fun of when I made that post. Remember?thuss wrote:No but do you know anybody that refers to their football team as "The Fumble" or "The missed extra point".

Not a comparison just stating look what happend the last time you played a decent reciever with the 88 number. Look at his Isu game similar to what moss did to you all in 1996. No they are not close to the same caliber but he is still a damn good athleteSwilly3224 wrote:I just read comparsions from Jefferson to Moss..

You're right, though, having a great passing game is far more important than having a great defense and making deep playoff runs thanks to home cooking.

WOW you guys are going deep into the old memory now, aint' cha??JahGriz wrote:Also, remember the '95 and '96 NC games were HOME games for Marshal. I can't imagine the excuses cat fans would be throwing out there had the game been in Missoula, and had the Griz won.
I never hear how having the NC at Marshal might have helped Marshal. The point is moot for '96, Randaaayyy was too much for anybody.

Yeah all the Griz receivers are better then any Cat receiver because they just put on the uni. And don't pick on Swilly for his age. That isn't his problem, it is a mental illness. So the last decent reciever we played with the number 88 is Randy Moss??? Can I see some stats?

Do some research on who "The Brick" is named after.Grizlaw wrote:Ugh...NO, but I DO know a team that calls their basketball arena "The Brick," which is what I was making fun of when I made that post. Avoid the smack because you just got another zero for effort.

If I recall, we were up 14-10 at halftime against the 96 team and Cliff and Mick had a few words over the last touch you scored against usJahGriz wrote:Nothing to brag about since DD? Ayat and Miller held their own. Did anybody take a look at the playoff scores OTHER than the NC Marshal game?
Also, granted both the '95 and '96 Herd D's were VERY good. Those teams both Griz and Herd in '95 and '96 were friggin awesome teams. Other than a GSU team, and maybe a YSU team, I don't think there have been better I-AA teams than those. Maybe arguably, but not definitively...no way.

James Madison could make a pretty good argument and Ape State last year...Probably the best Championship game I watched was 98 (?) when UMASS forced GSU into 7 turnovers with brute force DL play blowing up the option at the point of the pitch...But my favorite had to have been way back in 84 when Joe Bignell simply ran over people in the first half against the 21 point favored LA Tech team...

We know it's named after Brick Breeden, it doesn't change the fact that you call it "The Brick", rather than maybe "The Breed".lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Do some research on who "The Brick" is named after.Grizlaw wrote:Ugh...NO, but I DO know a team that calls their basketball arena "The Brick," which is what I was making fun of when I made that post. Grizlaw:
Yeah, that Griz defense would completely stifle the Troy Smith to Ted Ginn connection.I'll give you that one; if we face a team with a receiver of Randy Moss's athletic ability, we are definitely going to get beat this year. Fortunately, no such receiver exists this year, at any level of college football.
