Programming note: we had two features about Yale planned plus I had planned on having head coach Tony Reno, his QB son Dante Reno and lone team captain Josh Pitsenberger on the podcast/radio show....but Yale declined all interview requests this week. So lame, was really looking forward to it...

I agree though. That is so lame. Will taking a few minutes this week to talk football really hurt their preparation? :-k
It drives me bananas! My whole format is talking ball....it's literally a free advertisement for you to talk about your university and your football program and your philosophies....But I guess Yale doesn't need any more publicity. I was just really excited to talk to them. Seems like such a missed opportunity.
That sucks Colter. Honestly when the playoffs roll around my favorite part is listening to your interviews or reading up in a team I know nothing about. I get that they're Yale, but you'd think they'd want to embrace the playoff experience a bit. Especially coming up here playing in front of just an awesome fanbase. I'd think the players and coaches would be excited to embrace all that comes with it?

I don't know if they necessarily did anything wrong here; but my pettiness kinda wants to see us hang 50 on them now. Wonder if they'll skip out on the postgame presser too....

Give his interview with Dan Jackson a listen if you haven’t already and have time.

In addition to my recommendation that everyone yells this when they take the field it would be hilarious if they put it up on the scoreboard right before a 3rd down if Yale ever makes it close to that end zone. Unfortunately I'm sure the university has too much class for that. :)

If Harvard or Yale cared about football at a high level, they could be instantly one of the best teams in the country. It's clear they don't and that's why they play mid-tier FCS.

Yale has a $44.1 BILLION endowment. They could influx $250 million into the football program overnight without blinking an eye. They don't for their own holier than thou art reasons, I think....

Maybe the reason they don't want the players and coaches to do interviews is that the players have an IQ which is half the IQ of the average Yale student and the players all have assigned students to do their homework and take their tests.

Why spend money on gladiator games when the gentlemanly pursuits of polo and sailing are available?

I’m a “72” grad and becoming “high mileage.” I do not like what intercollegiate athletics has become. Do not like NIL, or the portal. In politics, I don’t like big donors having more influence over our votes.

Maybe the Ivy League has a better system, with financial help based on individual needs.

I put together a little amateurish summary for a buddy every week. Thought I'd share it, for what its worth:

Yale is 10-2. They lost to 12-0 Lehigh (#5 seed in FCS tournament) 31-13, and to 7-3 Dartmouth 17-16. They have won seven straight. By the way, Yale and Dartmouth have 34 NCAA varsity sports. Bobcats have 16.

Yale averages 31 pts/game, surrender 19. (Cats are at 38/17). Yale’s strength of schedule is #69 (MSU #3). Yale is rated by Massey as #23 offense, #21 defense (Cats are 2/3).

Yale averages 388 yards per game, 211 passing, 177 rushing. Cats are 441/207/233. Yale only runs for 4.3/carry but only give up 3.4/carry.

Reno has been the QB all year. Has thrown for 20 TD’s, 8 int’s. He is not a running threat at all. They use mainly one RB, Pitsenberger, who has 287 carries for 1447 yards, 5.0 per, 18 TD’s. I watched the Yale-YSU game and he reminds me of Cody Kirk.

They have two WR’s who have caught 80% of the passes, Brown and Santiago. Santiago left the YSU game with a leg injury and was on crutches the rest of the game. Brown has 60 catches, 16.3/catch, 10 TD’s.

Yale’s QB has been sacked 11 times. The Yale D has 35 sacks. They have a DL with 10 sacks. YSU was able to put a lot of pressure on the Yale QB in the first half.

Yale has committed 15 turnovers and have benefited from 15. Cats are 8/19, +11. Yale average 78 penalty yards, Cats are at 42.

I think Yale is very solid and very resilient (they came back from 28 points against Youngstown). But they haven’t seen a D like ours. The best D they placed all year is #12 Lehigh. And their offense seems very dependent on one RB and one WR (if the injured one doesn’t play).

Cats 42-17.

No Yale Coach interview but on their fan board, the Cats were referred to as ‘knuckle draggers’ by one poster.

Am I in the right place?

Yale put out some game notes here. It may not be an interview, and it doesn't contain an injury report, but it's something. We want info, too!
