@mslacatfan On Coaching- Victories, Career can you add either the number of seasons or the years to each name?

Also, Vigen is obviously in first in this category but how about adding Career Win Percentage? Mostly to see how everyone else did and how far ahead Vigen is.

Added some info, per a couple google searches. If anyone wants to check it for accuracy.

Thanks, that really shows how Vigen is in a league of his own.

Wins/complete season:
Vigen (as of 2024) - 11.75
Ash - 7.78
Choate - 7.00
Holland - 6.71
Storti - 6.20
Sweeney - 6.20

Also, I can't believe the all time winningest coach in school history was a guy that averaged 3 wins per season the year my dad graduated (1975). Sonny finally passed him during the championship run the next year.

-Gonna be a bunch of lists added over the next couple weeks as players and/or team stats approach top 10 lists... especially if Lamson keeps this up.

This is a bit random, but seeing the coaching wins pile up, I wanted to look a little closer at that.

Vigen is currently 53-12, for a winning % of 81.5%.
He’s 52-9 vs the FCS, 85% winning %.

The Cats have never lost to anyone outside of the top 10 in his 4.5 seasons.

3 losses to an FBS team (Wyoming, Oregon St, Oregon)
3 losses to NDSU (twice in the championship, 1 at home in the playoffs)
3 losses to SDSU (1 at home in regular season, 1 away in playoffs, 1 away in regular season)
2 losses to gris (both on the road, gris were ranked #7 & #3)
1 loss to Idaho (on the road, were ranked #9 at the time)

Idaho could be considered the “outlier”, but that was still a good team ranked inside the top 10.

If Vigen sticks around another year, he has a shot at breaking Ash’s mark. If he stays for 2 years it’s a given that he’ll break it.

If we make it to Nashville this year he'll have as many playoff wins as all other coaches combined in school history.

SDSU was 1 playoff loss, 2 regular season losses.

Added:

-team rushing yards/season. On pace for top 10.
-individual passing completion percentage/season. Lamson is holding down the top spot at this point, at 71.9%.

Go Cats

Your mission mslacatfan if you should choose to accept it (and all of BN is counting on you to accept it)
is to tell us how close to top 10 longest interception for a TD Tallon Marsh made today.

I’ll bet it’s in the top 5 for interception yardage for a TD by a defensive lineman,

I think it's tied for 6th, and longest since 1988.

What five defensive linemen had a longer interception return for a TD?

I thought maybe Zach Minter, but his was 'only' 53 yards.

From MSU Record Book online, 80+ yard interception returns are:

100 yards - Rob Pouliot vs Boise State (1988)
97 yards - Joe Roberts vs Rhode Island (1984)
90 - Austin DeFrate vs Nebraska (1930)
89 - Mike McLeod vs Idaho State (1979)
82 - Jim McLeod vs Montana (1959)
80 - Sam Moore vs St Ambrose (1958, not a TD)
80 - Sean Hill vs EWU (1992)

Is that a father/son duo on the list? Pretty cool if so.
