Re: Cats @ Idaho State Predictions
I think the Cats come in and start slow…again and likely fall behind. I think we’re up by half and then pull away to win. But, it’s never easy in Idaho and at ISU it’s weird far too many times for me to be comfortable.

Re: Cats @ Idaho State Predictions
The cats will definitely start slow, it seems to be our MO. I see us losing at half but coming back to win at the end in a close fought win. I think Cody (?) Hawkins is doing a good job to turn ISU around. But I don't think he's got them where he needs them to be yet this year. And wasn't the last time we played in ISU when Matt Miller called plays for the first time as OC? It's been a long time since we've been there. None of our current players have made that trip. Is that a thing to worry about? I'm not sure. It messed with the new starters in NAU a couple years back so I'm going to say that it will affect us, at least a little bit.

For some strange reason we seem to really struggle in domes, as another poster mentioned. If we were playing in Bobcat Stadium I would pick us by 17 to 21 points. I have a concerning feeling about this game.

I wonder how SDSU would do vs ISU in Pocatello?
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Agree 100%. The 24 will mostly be in the second half.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 10:36 pmI literally think we score on every possession.

Re: Cats @ Idaho State Predictions
These predictions seem to reflect that we dont really know what kind of team MSU is yet. The predictions are all over the place.

Re: Cats @ Idaho State Predictions
The predictions are always all over the place, no matter who we play. Some fans have a hard time believing the program/team is elite and almost always predict close scores. Some know that's what we are and predict blowouts, and some factor in the weird things like dome effect and predict a couple score win.

One score game at half. Cats make adjustments in 2nd half like normal and win big.

Re: Cats @ Idaho State Predictions
It varies, right? I've seen predictions ranging anything from just a 1-8 seed all the way to national champion caliber. I've liked what we have seen so far on the field, but at the same time, this may have been the weakest non-conference schedule we have ever had. So this team really hasn't been tested so far, other than the comeback win at UNM. And that was a game where we favored by two scores.iaafan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 5:00 pmWho do we think they are? Not much consensus.Camo_Cat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 8:28 amI hate predicting scores; I'm never even close and I definitely don't want to be the jinx (yes - I'm that guy; haven't changed my underwear since the opening win against UNM). All I will say is that if MSU is the team we think they are, this is the first real chance to prove their legitimacy. Go handle a decent team on the road in a place where we have won in the past but have had to fight hard to do so. Here's to hoping our boys in Blue & Gold put the paper tigers away early.
IMHO, at a minimum we are Big Sky Conference favorites to win the conference championship. Because of that, I feel this team needs to show that we can go on the road, against a conference opponent who has given us really good games in the past, and play in a dome (have not played well in dome environments), and get a dominating win.

The only full game we played poorly on the road was against the gris. We’re better this year than we were last year and ISU isn’t anywhere near as good as our worst opponent last year.Camo_Cat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 9:17 amIt varies, right? I think the Cats take this one easily. Defense continues to play well and we see a balanced offense.

I just watched the UND game highlights against the pokey spuds and I feel the Cats should dominate them just as much. I predict the Cats win by 34 points and either dUMb or UofI gets beat this weekend. Last time I watched a game in pokey Joe Dirt was in the stands cheering for the Cats.

I hope you're right, but If we didn't score on every possession vs MercyHurst, I doubt we can do that vs a Big Sky team, at their place, in a dome?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 10:36 pmI literally think we score on every possession.

But I do get your point and I have a feeling they won't be able to stop our run game and right off the bat Scottre and Adam and perhaps others will be running through and around them... and then they'll pack the box to try to stop that and then our passing game will deliver. Should be a fun one.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!
