About Bush lying about WMDs...come on....every single politian had the same intelligence from the CIA and if you go back and look at it the GOP and the DEMS all agreed that Sadam had WMDs. Even Kerry said in the debates that he thought it was right we were over there he just did'nt agree with how the war was being fought. I am not going to get into the rest because it would probably get very messy. The bottom line is, if you think that ANY polititian actually cares about anything but money, power, and their career, you are mistaken.
:goodpost: In fact, the best post on this thread.

As far as the Katrina thing (couloir), Nature rules all. Preventative measures can be taken and were. The berms protecting New Orleans were built using statistics and economics. The chance of a hurricane the size of Katrina happening (very low) were far outweighed by the cost of buiding berms large enough to protect the city from said hurricane (very high). A city that is BELOW SEA LEVEL... 'nuff said.

The supervolcano that is Yellowstone National Park goes off once every 600,000 years. The last time a supervolcano erupted (Toba), it caused the last Ice Age, which lasted 1,000 years. The last time Yellowstone erupted was 640,000 years ago. We are officially living on borrowed time.

So, going by your logic, if Yellowstone erupts before Bush is out of office (or when another Republican is in office), we KNEW it could happen sometime but didn't plan appropriately for it. Therefore, when the Yellowstone supervolcano finally meets its missed deadline, wipes out the U.S. agricultural belt and ends America's superpower status, those damned old conservatives will be the ones who take the blame. Am I right? :P :D

A rediculous situation, but it applies none-the-less.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
