Good point, Gazelas has struggled lately too and could use a confidence boost. It'll be interesting to see how much Belo and Xavier play tomorrow or if they play at all. Xavier certainly won't play anywhere near 39 minutes like he did last night.

I agree with this. There was one possession against SUU where he caught the ball down on the block and made an aggressive post move to the basket. He ended up getting hacked and made his free throws. Depending on the matchup scenario, I would like to see some of that. Just get him knocked around a bit and playing basketball again without thinking.

Completely agree. Some have mentioned pace slows when he and Belo are in at and time, but I think it causes match up issues for other teams, especially if they don't have two strong Bigs. Next year watch out. And add a7.3. I was complimenting him to a friend that might have been the best play I've seen from a big not named Belo in quite some time. Of course, then he promptly started turning the ball over so there is still lots of work to be done!![]()

Great win to own the Big Sky Conference championship. No sharing. This was the biggest crowd we have had and it was loud.
One last home game Saturday. I wish my mind didn't go there, but dang it, I always think about all the years when the Big Sky champ got to host the Big Sky tournament. I would be there for every game, as I have been all season, but I am not able to attend the tournament in Boise. Just just self pity.

So what was the student section chanting in the 2nd half that drew a warning from the announcer? I couldn't make it out. About the 6:00 mark on the replay.

I also remember the deflation of a tournament in Bozeman when the ‘Cats lost to the g…s. Might as well have turned off the lights in the Brick right then. I like the neutral court.aucat wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:30 amGreat win to own the Big Sky Conference championship. No sharing. This was the biggest crowd we have had and it was loud.

They said some things I couldn’t make out but I know I heard “Bulls&*t” from their section on some bad calls.

I couldn’t understand what they were saying…but I sure liked that they were active and engaged and chanting. And I chuckled when the announcer asked them to remember their sportsmanship in the Brick! Ha! That admonishment would have only made us a little louder back in the day I went as a student.

Re: MBB vs Sac State
I guess I don’t blame the students. On Sac State’s second position, their player drove right up the left edge of the paint and encountered a Belo and I think Muhammad. He was dribbling left-handed, stopped the ball for a beat with both hands, put it down again (double dribble), picked it up, took a step or two (travel) and started dribbling again (triple dribble). It’s possible we dislodged the ball, but I didn’t think so. Anyway, that would still leave two violations right in front of the official. You know it’s going to be a strange evening after that, but it didn’t totally get out of hand. Just close.

Re: MBB vs Sac State
I'm pretty sure that they found out that the Sac St. head coaches name is Brandon and they combined the "Let's go Brandon!" chant with what that Nascar crowd was actually saying to give him a warm welcome to MSU.

Re: MBB vs Sac State
You guys made me do some more research with the younger set who were in attendance. You are right that with the coaches name being Brandon Laird, our very creative and aware kids started the chant “Lets go Brandon”….. Ultimately, at some point the “real” Brandon made a gesture of some type to the kids. Which, of course, made the kids become very respectful, kind, loving, supportive, nice, quiet….…and the chant became “F$&k U Brandon” which I am sure was intended to be more “endearing” and make the “real” Brandon even feel more welcome and warm and fuzzy! At that point, the PA announcer reminded the crowd of their sportsmanship which the crowd disobeyed royally. Ha! Love it when we get a good group of students at the games.kmax wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 6:12 pmI'm pretty sure that they found out that the Sac St. head coaches name is Brandon and they combined the "Let's go Brandon!" chant with what that Nascar crowd was actually saying to give him a warm welcome to MSU.![]()

Osobor is going to be really good. Hope he sticks around (not a rumor just the nature of college basketball today).
Agreed about Patterson, let him shoot until he makes one. In fact don’t let him rest until he makes one.
I mean the game doesn’t mean a ton anyway.

I understand fan bias but you go way beyond bias....I went back after reading this post and watched the replay....Sac's second "possession" (I assume that's what you meant) nothing anything close to what you describe happens, or on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, etc. possessions....Be biased, OK....don't blatantly lie....really screws up your credibility and makes you sound too much like a whiney Griz fan....Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 5:02 pmI guess I don’t blame the students. Yeah but there was a double dribble in the sequence. Ref said it got tipped but I didn’t see it.sacstateman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 11:25 amI understand fan bias but you go way beyond bias....I went back after reading this post and watched the replay....Sac's second "possession" (I assume that's what you meant) nothing anything close to what you describe happens, or on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, etc. possessions....Be biased, OK....don't blatantly lie....really screws up your credibility and makes you sound too much like a whiney Griz fan....Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 5:02 pmI guess I don’t blame the students. Re: MBB vs Sac State
Could you tell me at what point in the game this occurred so I can look at the replay again...I saw nothing close to this....After checking the possessions that Bobcat4Ever quoted, I wasn't going to watch the whole game again to find what he said occurred in the second possession...I watched the first 6 Sac possessions of each half and nothing close happened (btw, in the first half during those 6 possessions I saw 2 fouls by Montana St. that weren't called but that happens in every game)....If the refs were so terribly biased against Montana St. then how come you shot so many more free throws than we did? I'm not complaining but don't understand how you all can see things I don't see and I see things you all don't see....WalkOn79 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 5:38 pmYeah but there was a double dribble in the sequence.
